Dynamics of phase space quasi-probability coherence of one of two moving atoms trapped in a cavity coherent field

Abdel‐Baset A. Mohamed, Ghaliah Alhamzi, F. M. Aldosari

This study explores the dynamics of atomic mixedness and phase space quasi-probability information of one of two moving atoms trapped in a cavity filled by a coherent field. The atom-photon interactions are considered with the resonance case through nonlinear intensity-dependent coupling. We investigate the impacts of the atom-photon and atomic motion couplings on the dynamics of the atomic Wehrl entropy's mixedness and phase space Husimi distribution information. By helping Wehrl entropy's mixedness dynamics, the dynamics of acceleration and enhancement of the generation of the atomic phase space quasi-probability coherence are examined, and the Husimi distributions of the generated atomic states of one of the two moving atoms are explored. The results are shown that the atomic Husimi distribution and Wehrl entropy's mixedness are susceptible to an increase in the atom-photon and the atomic motion couplings. Therefore, the atomic phase space Husimi distribution coherence can be improved by increasing the atomic motion and nonlinear atom-photon couplings.

Coherent optical two-photon resonance tomographic imaging in three dimensions

Mateusz Mazelanik, Adam Leszczyński, Tomasz Szawełło +1 more

Abstract Magnetic resonance imaging is a three-dimensional imaging technique, where a gradient of the magnetic field is used to interrogate spin resonances with spatial resolution. The application of this technique to probe the coherence of atoms with good three-dimensional resolution is a challenging application. We propose and demonstrate an optical method to probe spin resonances via a two-photon Raman transition, reconstructing the 3D-structure of an atomic ensemble’s coherence, which is itself subject to external fields. Our method relies on a single time-and-space resolved heterodyne measurement, allowing the reconstruction of a complex 3D coherence profile. Owing to the optical interface, we reach a tomographic image resolution of 14 × 14 × 36 μm3. The technique allows to probe any transparent medium with a resonance structure and provides a robust diagnostic tool for atom-based quantum information protocols. As such, it is a viable technique for application to magnetometry, electrometry, and imaging of electromagnetic fields.

Wigner quasi-probability distribution of a resonator coherent field interacting with a flux qubit via two-photon coupling

Laila A. Al‐Essa, Wafa F. Alfwzan, F. M. Aldosari +2 more

The Wigner quasi-probability distribution function is an important tool for estimating the quantumness of quantum states. The Wigner distribution function (WDF) is related monotonically to the coherent field state density operator and their probability distributions. In this paper, we analyze the time-dependent resonator coherent field states produced by a flux qubit’s interaction with a resonator through a two-photon coupling. The WDF dynamics of the coherent field states is investigated under the effects of the qubit-resonator detuning and the intrinsic decoherence. The WDF non-classicality associated with the mixedness resonator entropy dynamics can be controlled by varying the qubit-resonator interaction, detuning as well as the decoherence. The intrinsic decoherence clearly affects the WDF non-classicality, identified by the negative values of the WDF. Finally, by fixing one or both of the complex phase space components, we are able to explore the dynamics of the Wigner-distribution functions.
