Simple schemes for generation ofW-type multipartite entangled states and realization of quantum-information concentration

Deng-Yu Zhang, Shi-Qing Tang, Xie Li-Jun +3 more

We propose simple schemes for generating W -type multipartite entangled states in cavity quantum electrodynamics (CQED). Our schemes involve a largely detuned interaction of Λ-type three-level atoms with a single-mode cavity field and a classical laser, and both the symmetric and asymmetric W states can be created in a single step. Our schemes are insensitive to both the cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission. With the above system, we also propose a scheme for realizing quantum-information concentration which is the reverse process of quantum cloning. In this scheme, quantum-information originally coming from a single qubit, but now distributed into many qubits, is concentrated back to a single qubit in only one step.

Generation and discrimination of a type of four-partite entangled state

Xin-Wen Wang, Guojian Yang

Recently, a genuine four-qubit entangled state ${\ensuremath{\mid}{\ensuremath{\chi}}^{00}⟩}_{3214}$ has been proposed [Y. Yeo and W. K. Chua, Phys. Rev. Lett. 96, 060502 (2006)]. This state has many interesting entanglement properties and possible applications in quantum information processing and fundamental tests of quantum physics. Here we present a simple scheme for generating such a state in an ion-trap system. We also demonstrate how to discriminate between the 16 basis states ${{\ensuremath{\mid}{\ensuremath{\chi}}^{ij}⟩}_{3214}={\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{3}^{i}{\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{1}^{j}{\ensuremath{\mid}{\ensuremath{\chi}}^{00}⟩}_{3214},i,j=0,1,2,3}$.

A Scheme for Teleportation of an Unknown Multi-atom Entangled State via Raman Interaction

Ma Song-She

A scheme is proposed to teleportation of an unknown multi-atom entangled state, considering the entangled states of two or more particles play an important role in both demonstrating quantum nonlocality and quantum information processing. The scheme is based on the degenerate Raman interaction of a Λ-type three-level atom with a single-mode field. First let n atoms cross a coherent cavity field in succession to prepare a quantum channel. Then the sender lets the other n atoms which carry the unknown state cross the cavity in succession and makes a joint measurement by detecting the cavity field and the atoms separately. When |α|1, the cavity field can be detected with the measurement method of detecting orthogonal states. Finally the receiver reconstructs the initial state according to the outcome of the joint measurement transmitted through a classical channel. The advantage of the scheme is that it uses an entangled state of a coherent state with n atoms as a quantum channel, which makes the scheme simple and easy. The scheme is expected to be useful in demonstrating quantum nonlocality and information processing.
