SCHEME FOR IMPLEMENTING AN N-QUBIT CONTROLLED NOT GATE WITH SUPERCONDUCTING QUANTUM INTERFERENCE DEVICES IN CAVITY QED

Abstract

We present a scheme for implementing a Toffoli gate. The superconducting quantum interference devices are coupled to a resonant cavity with nonidentical SQUID–cavity coupling constants. So only one interaction between SQUID and cavity is required, and a Toffoli gate can be obtained. The method can be generalized to the N-qubit case easily and the scheme is insensitive to systematic coupling error.

An Efficient Scheme for Implementing an N -Qubit Toffoli Gate with Superconducting Quantum-Interference Devices in Cavity QED

An alternative approach is proposed to realize an n -qubit Toffoli gate with superconducting quantum-interference devices (SQUIDs) in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). In the proposal, we represent two logical gates of a qubit with the two lowest levels of a SQUID while a higher-energy intermediate level of each SQUID is utilized for the gate manipulation. During the operating process, because the cavity field is always in vacuum state, the requirement on the cavity is greatly loosened and there is no transfer of quantum information between the cavity and SQUIDs.

IMPLEMENTING AN n-QUBIT FREDKIN GATE WITH SUPERCONDUCTING QUANTUM-INTERFERENCE DEVICES IN CAVITY QED

Anshou Zheng, Yongjin Cheng, JIBIN LIU +2 more

An alternative scheme is proposed in this paper to realize an n-qubit Fredkin gate with superconducting quantum-interference device (SQUID) in cavity QED. The multiqubit logical gate is essentially accomplished by a sequence of operations on only two SQUIDs in a large-detuned cavity. In the scheme, the two logical states of a qubit are presented by the two lowest states of a SQUID and the cavity is always in vacuum state so that the limit on the cavity is not serious.

A scheme for implementing a three-qubit Toffoli gate with atoms sent through a microwave cavity is proposed by choosing nonidentical coupling constants between the atoms and cavity. The scheme can be generalized to implement an $N$-qubit Toffoli gate and the gating time does not change with an increase of the number of qubits.

Realization of Toffoli Gate Based on Superconducting QuantumInterference Devices in Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics

彭俊 PENG Jun, 邬云文 WU Yunwen, 李小娟 LI Xiaojuan

A theory scheme was proposed for implementing a Toffoli gate with three-level structure superconducting quantum-interference devices(SQUID),based on the cavity quantum electrodynamics(CQED).In this proposal, quantum information was encoded into the two lower levels of a SQUID while a higher level serves as the gate manipulation.Applying the coupling of the cavity field with a SQUID,which was driven by a classical microwave pulse to control the evolution of quantum state, the scheme could be extended to achieve N-qubit Toffoli gate. And,the experimental feasibility of Toffoli gate was disscussed, and the total operation time of four-qubit Toffoli gate was computed only 30 nanometers, which was much shorter than the decay time of the cavity mode or the energy relaxation time of the higher level. And the increasing rate of the gate response time became slow with the increase of the qubit number.

A scheme is proposed for implementing a controlled-NOT gate via superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) in cavity-QED. The controlled-NOT gate can be achieved by coupling the SQUID to a single-mode microwave cavity field or classical microwave pluses. The scheme may be experimentally realizable.

One-step implementation of a multiqubit controlled-phase gate with superconducting quantum interference devices coupled to a resonator

Y. Q. Zhang, Shou Zhang, Kyu Hwang Yeon +1 more

A scheme for one-step implementation of an n-qubit controlled-phase gate is proposed in a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) system. The distinguishing feature of this scheme is the simultaneous and nonidentical off-resonant Raman coupling of the n SQUID qubits to a single-mode resonator and the microwave pulses. The scheme is efficient and simple because it requires only one-step evolution, and no adjustments of the experimental parameters are needed during the operation.
