Multicolor quadripartite entanglement from an optomechanical cavity

Abstract

We investigate the generation of multicolor quadripartite entangled beams of light with continuous variables via optomechanical coupling in an optical cavity. It is found that the genuine quadripartite entanglement can be achieved among the Stokes and anti-Stokes sidebands of two driven cavity fields. This entanglement still exists for the environment temperature up to about $50\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}\text{K}$. We also show that the obtained genuine quadripartite entanglement actually results from concurrent four-wave-mixing processes in the system, which can, in principle, be generalized to obtain a genuine $2N$-partite entangled state of light from a generic $N$-mode cavity optomechanical system.

Polychromatic quadripartite entanglement from concurrent four-wave mixing in a three-level atomic system

Huatang Tan, Gao‐xiang Li

In this paper, we investigate the generation of polychromatic quadripartite entanglement of continuous variables from a three-level $\ensuremath{\Lambda}$-type atomic system inside an optical quadruply resonant cavity. The atoms are driven by external lasers and simultaneously coupled to four cavity modes by means of multiply concurrent four-wave mixing interactions. The general master equation of the cavity field is derived explicitly. By solving the Gaussian-type master equation and using the negative-partial-transpose criterion for bipartite entanglement, we show that the genuine quadripartite entanglement of the field can be generated over a wide range of parameters. The entanglement properties of the four-mode field are discussed in detail. We find that the optimal quadripartite entanglement can be obtained when the cavity modes are tuned to be resonant with the Rabi sidebands of the driven atoms.

Quantum entanglement via a controllable four-wave-mixing mechanism in an optomechanical system

Xiang You, Yongmin Li

We propose an approach to generate strong quantum entanglement by the controllable four-wave-mixing mechanism in a single-cavity, weak-coupling optomechanical system. The optomechanical system is driven by a strong two-tone pump field and a weak signal field, simultaneously. The two-tone pump field consists of a lower and an upper sideband, which couple with the optical cavity and mechanical resonator, and generate the beam-splitter and two-mode squeezing interactions under the rotating-wave approximation. This interaction mechanism modifies the effective susceptibility of the optomechanical cavity and optomechanically induces a four-wave-mixing process. Strong quantum entanglement can be generated between the signal and four-wave-mixing fields in realistic optomechanical systems. The generation scheme of the quantum entanglement is quite robust against thermal-mechanical noise, and significant entanglement can persist at room temperature in the weak-coupling regime.

Generation of quadripartite continuous-variable entanglement in two coupled opto-mechanical systems

E Wu, Jia Liu, Luomeng Chao +5 more

Abstract Macroscopic multiple continuous-variable (CV) entanglement plays a central role in recent CV-based approaches to quantum multipartite network, quantum communication and quantum secret sharing. We propose a novel scheme to generate stationary quadripartite CV entanglement at the macroscopic level in two coupling Fabry–Perot cavities with a flux qutrit. We treat two cavity fields and two movable mirrors as intrinsically quadripartite and study quadripartite CV entanglement among them. We demonstrate that genuine quadripartite CV entanglement can be generated in this system.

Implementation of bright two-color quadripartite continuous-variable entanglement by the quantum optical dimer

An experimentally feasible intracavity coupler scheme is proposed to generate bright quadripartite continuous-variable (CV) entanglement by the coupled second-harmonic generation processes. By solving the steady-state equations and calculating the correlation spectra of the four output beams, we show that the four output beams are all entangled with each other according to the sufficient inseparability criterion for multipartite CV entanglement. By utilizing the upconversion process, the generated four entanglement fields have macroscopic intensities as soon as the input fields are turned on.

Generation and detection of large and robust entanglement between two different mechanical resonators in cavity optomechanics

J Li, I Moaddel Haghighi, Nicola Malossi +2 more

We investigate a general scheme for generating, either dynamically or in the steady state, continuous variable entanglement between two mechanical resonators with different frequencies. We employ an optomechanical system in which a single optical cavity mode driven by a suitably chosen two-tone field is coupled to the two resonators. Significantly large mechanical entanglement can be achieved, which is extremely robust with respect to temperature.

Bright quadripartite continuous variable entanglement from coupled intracavity nonlinearities

Juan Guo, Zehui Zhai, Jiangrui Gao

The continuous variable quadripartite entanglement properties of the output fields by the coupled intracavity parametric downconversions processes are analyzed theoretically. In the above-threshold region, it shows that the four output lights are multicolored entangled beams in separable locations with four-mode amplitude quadratures correlation and relative phase quadratures correlation.
