Abstract

We propose a scheme for an optomechanical control phase-flip gate(CPFG) based on optomechanical equivalence Kerr nonlinearity. Analytical conditions for realization of CPFG is provided. By numerically solving the master equation of the system, we show that the fidelity of the two-qubit CPFG periodically achieves its maximum values under the condition of the appropriate rate of the coupling strengths. This scheme can break the limit of the Kerr effect at the single-photon level compared with the nature Kerr medium.

Realizing quantum controlled phase flip through cavity QED

We propose a scheme to realize quantum controlled phase flip (CPF) between two rare-earth ions embedded in the respective microsphere cavity via interacting with a single-photon pulse in sequence. The numerical simulations illuminate that the CPF gate between ions is robust and scalable with extremely high fidelity and low error rate. Our scheme is more applicable than other schemes presented before based on current laboratory cavity-QED technology, and it is possible to be used as an applied unit gate in future quantum computation and quantum communication.

Quantum phase gate for optical qubits with cavity quantum optomechanics

Muhammad Asjad, Paolo Tombesi, David Vitali

We show that a cavity optomechanical system formed by a mechanical resonator simultaneously coupled to two modes of an optical cavity can be used for the implementation of a deterministic quantum phase gate between optical qubits associated with the two intracavity modes. The scheme is realizable for sufficiently strong single-photon optomechanical coupling in the resolved sideband regime, and is robust against cavity losses.

Scheme for Realizing Kerr Nonlinearity in Cavity QED

LU Dao-ming, Zheng Shi-Biao

We propose a scheme for realizing the Kerr-type nonlinearity for a cavity mode. In the scheme the cavity mode interacts with a single three-level atom dispersively. Under certain conditions, the evolution of the cavity field, decoupled from the atomic degree of freedom, corresponds to the Kerr effect. The scheme can be generalized to implement cross-Kerr effect and two-qubit phase gates for two cavity modes.

A proposal for the implementation of quantum gates in an optomechanical system via phonon blockade

Nilakantha Meher

Abstract We propose a scheme to implement quantum controlled NOT gate and quantum phase gate in an optomechanical system based on phonon blockade. For appropriate choices of system parameters, the fidelities of both quantum gate operations are very close to unity in the absence of dissipation. Using recently achieved experimental values in a mechanical resonator coupled to a microwave cavity, we show that the quantum gate can be realized experimentally with very high fidelity.

Cavity-assisted controlled phase-flip gates

Faezeh Kimiaee Asadi, Stephen C. Wein, Christoph Simon

Cavity-mediated two-qubit gates, for example between solid-state spins, are attractive for quantum network applications. We propose three schemes to implement a controlled phase-flip gate mediated by a cavity. The main advantage of all these schemes is the possibility to perform them using a cavity with high cooperativity, but not in the strong-coupling regime. We calculate the fidelity of each scheme in detail, taking into account the most important realistic imperfections, and compare them to highlight the optimal conditions for each scheme. Using these results, we discuss which quantum system characteristics might favor one scheme over another.

Quantum Toffoli gate in hybrid optomechanical system

Lei Peng, Yang Zhang, Jiong Cheng +1 more

An quantum Toffoli gate based on optomechanical system is proposed. By exploring the hybrid optomechanical system, we show that there are equivalence third order Kerr nonlinear effects between optical and mechanical modes. Through parameter analysis, we find that the nonlinear coefficient can be much stronger than the one under natural conditions. By taking advantage of this nonlinear effect, we can achieve high fidelity photon–phonon Toffoli gate. In the presence of dissipation and noise, we calculate the implementation time and fidelity of Toffoli gate. In addition, the application of this protocol in universal fault-tolerant quantum computation is also analyzed. Our study provides an effective platform for hybrid quantum computation.
