Abstract

This paper proposes an experimentally feasible scheme for implementing quantum dense coding of trapped-ion system in decoherence-free states. As the phase changes due to time evolution of components with different eigenenergies of quantum superposition are completely frozen, quantum dense coding based on this model would be perfect. The scheme is insensitive to heating of vibrational mode and Bell states can be exactly distinguished via detecting the ionic state.

Quantum computing gates are proposed to apply on trapped ions in decoherence-free states. As the phase changes due to time evolution of components with different eigenenergies of quantum superposition are completely frozen, quantum computing based on this model would be perfect. Possible applications of our scheme in future ion-trap quantum computers is discussed.

Scheme for implementing quantum dense coding in cavity QED

Ye Liu, Guang‐Can Guo

An experimentally feasible scheme for implementing quantum dense coding in cavity QED is proposed. In the scheme the atoms interact simultaneously with a highly detuned cavity mode with the assistance of a classical field. The scheme is insensitive to the cavity decay and the thermal field. Bell states can be exactly distinguished via detecting the atomic state, and the quantum dense coding can be realized in a simple way.

A simple scheme for implementing four-atom quantum dense coding in cavity QED

Zheng Xiao-Juan, Hui Xu, Mao-Fa Fang +1 more

An experimentally feasible scheme for implementing four-atom quantum dense coding of an atom–cavity system is proposed. The cavity is only virtually excited and no quantum information will be transferred from the atoms to the cavity. Thus the scheme is insensitive to cavity decay and the thermal field. In the scheme, Alice can send faithfully 4 bits of classical information to Bob by sending two qubits. Generalized Bell states can be exactly distinguished by detecting the atomic state, and quantum dense coding can be realized in a simple way.

A quantum dense coding implementation in an ion trap

Chang-Ning Pan, Mao-Fa Fang

This paper reports that a quantum dense coding can be implemented with ions confined in a linear trap and interacting with laser beams. The scheme is insensitive to the interaction between the quantum channel and the environment. The Bell-state measurement is not involved and the probability of success in our scheme is 1.0.

Practical scheme for quantum dense coding between three parties using microwave radiation in trapped ions

Wen-Xing Yang, Zhe-Xuan Gong

We propose a practical scheme for implementing two-dimension quantum dense coding (QDC) between three parties through manipulating three ions confined in microtraps addressed by microwaves and assisted by a magnetic field gradient. The ions in our scheme are not required to be strictly cooled to the vibrational ground state because single-qubit and multi-qubit operations are made via Ising terms, in which the vibrational modes of the ions remain unchanged throughout the scheme, rendering our scheme robust to the heating of the ions. We also present the detailed steps and parameters for implementing the three-party QDC experimentally and show that the proposed scheme is within the current techniques of ion-trap experiments.
