Teleportation of displaced Fock states: Fidelity and their teleported photon number distributions

Abstract

We consider the teleportation of displaced Fock states which are highly non-classical states of the quantized electromagnetic field which have a set of remarkable quantum properties that include the peculiar oscillations of their photon number distributions. We use the transfer operator formalism to show that the quantum teleportation of a DFS renders a finite superposition of orthonormal DFS's and find its explicit mathematical expression in terms of the compression parameter of the correlated EPR states of the quantum channel. The expression for a teleported Fock state is also derived as a particular case of DFS's teleportation. We finally apply these results to study the fidelity of the teleportation of DFS's and the teleportation of their photon number statistics.

Fidelity and information in the quantum teleportation of continuous variables

Holger Friedrich Hofmann, Toshiki Ide, Takayoshi Kobayashi +1 more

Ideally, quantum teleportation should transfer a quantum state without distortion and without providing any information about that state. However, quantum teleportation of continuous electromagnetic-field variables introduces additional noise, limiting the fidelity of the quantum-state transfer. In this article, the operator describing the quantum-state transfer is derived. The transfer operator modifies the probability amplitudes of the quantum state in a shifted photon-number basis by enhancing low photon numbers and suppressing high photon numbers. This modification of the statistical weight corresponds to a measurement of finite resolution performed on the original quantum state. The limited fidelity of quantum teleportation is thus shown to be a direct consequence of the information obtained in the measurement.

Quantum teleportation of one- and two-photon superposition states

Ying Li, Tiancai Zhang, Zhang Jun-Xiang +1 more

Quantum teleportation of one- and two-photon superposition states based on EPR entanglement of continuous-wave two-mode squeezed state is discussed. The fidelities of teleportation are deduced for two different input quantum states. The dependence of the fidelity on the parameters of EPR entanglement and the gain of the classical channels are shown numerically. Comparing with the teleportation of Fock state and coherent state, it is pointed out that for given EPR entanglement and classical gain, the higher the nonclassicality of the input state, the lower the accessible fidelity of teleportation.

Quantum Teleportation of One-Photon and Two-Photon Superposition States

Ying Li

One-photon and two-photon superposition states are the fundamental quantum states, which have shown interesting features, such as squeezing and anti-bunching. In this paper we discuss the quantum teleportation of such quantum states with the continuous-wave EPR states. Fidelity as a function of EPR correlation is obtained. We also compared the results with Fock state and coherent state teleportation.
