Abstract

We give the detailed study of a scheme to efficiently engineer multi-atom entanglement by detecting the cavity decay through single-photon detectors. The scheme can be used to prepare arbitrary superpositions of multi-atom Dicke states, without the requirements of high-efficiency detection, separate addressing of different atoms, and full localization of the atoms to the Lamb-Dicke limit. We analyze in detail various sources of noise and imperfections in this experimental scheme, and show that the scheme is robust to the dominant sources of noise and realizable with the state of the art technology.

Efficient Engineering of Multiatom Entanglement through Single-Photon Detections

L.-M. Duan, Harry J. Kimble

We propose an efficient scheme to engineer multiatom entanglement by detecting cavity decay through single-photon detectors. In the special case of two atoms, this scheme is much more efficient than previous probabilistic schemes, and insensitive to randomness in the atom's position. More generally, the scheme can be used to prepare arbitrary superpositions of multiatom Dicke states without the requirements of high-efficiency detection and separate addressing of different atoms.

The generation of multi-atom entanglement via the detection of cavity decay

Boyang Yu, Zhi‐Yuan Zhou, Guang-Can Guo

We propose a scheme to generate entangled states of multi-Λ-type three-level atoms in a cavity. It is shown how multi-atom Dicke states can be prepared simply by detecting the photon decays from the cavity. The analytic form of the approximate efficiency of the scheme is obtained. With this analytic form investigated, we provide an active way to achieve high efficiency.

Implementing Entanglement Swapping with Trapped Atoms via Cavity Decay

Xiu‐Min Lin, Bo Hao Yu, Zheng-Wei Zhou +2 more

With trapped atoms, we propose an experimental scheme to implement entanglement swapping based on adiabatic passage and the detection of cavity decay. This scheme is inherently robust to diverse sources of noise, such as atomic spontaneous emission, or detector inefficiency. The advantages make it realizable with the current experimental technology.

Concentration Scheme for Partially Entangled Atomic States Through Detection of Cavity Decay

Song Wei

We propose a scheme for concentrating entanglement of partially entangled states for atoms trapped in the distant cavities. The scheme is based on adiabatic passage and photonic interference. It is robust against a number of practical noises such as the violation of the Lamb–Dicke condition, spontaneous emission and detection inefficiency.

Generation of multi-atom entangled states through the cavity input-output process

Zhuo‐Liang Cao

Several experimentally feasible schemes for generating multi-atom entangled states were proposed by means of cavity-assisted interactions with single-photon pulses. The generated entangled states had very high fidelities even if the atoms were not localized in the Lamb-Dicke regime. From the experimental point of view, fewer operation numbers and simple setup keep the schemes easy to be implemented.
