Abstract

Several experimentally feasible schemes for generating multi-atom entangled states were proposed by means of cavity-assisted interactions with single-photon pulses. The generated entangled states had very high fidelities even if the atoms were not localized in the Lamb-Dicke regime. From the experimental point of view, fewer operation numbers and simple setup keep the schemes easy to be implemented.

Scalable preparation of multiple-particle entangled states via the cavity input-output process

Xiu‐Min Lin, Peng Xue, Chen Mei-Ying +2 more

We propose schemes for generating multiple-atom entangled states and a multiple-photon Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state, respectively, based on the input-output relation of the cavity. The numerical simulations show that produced multiple-particle entangled states have high fidelity even if the atoms are not localized in the Lamb-Dicke regime. Some practical quantum noises, such as atomic spontaneous emission and output coupling inefficiency, only decrease the success probability but exert no influence on the fidelity of prepared multiple-particle entangled states. The successful probabilities of our protocols approach unity in the ideal case. In addition, no need for individually addressing keeps the schemes easy to implement from the experimental point of view.

A Scheme for Generation of Multi-Atom Entangled W State in Cavity QED

Hong‐Mei Zou

This article discusses an alternative scheme to generate a multi-atom entangled W state in cavity QED via Raman transitions. The present scheme does not involve cavity-photon population during the operation and thus is insensitive to the cavity decay. On the other hand,we have also indicated that the scheme is easy to implement from the experimental point of view.

Generation of multiple-particle cluster state via cavity QED

Lin Gong-Wei, Xiu‐Min Lin, Chen Li-Bo +2 more

This paper proposes schemes for generating multiple-photon and multiple-atom cluster states, respectively. The schemes are based on the cavity input-output process and atomic or photonic states measurement, and the successful probabilities approach unity in the ideal case. The numerical simulations show that the produced multiple-particle cluster states have high fidelity even if the Lamb–Dicke condition is not satisfied. Some practical imperfections, such as atomic spontaneous emission and output coupling inefficiency, only decrease the success probability but exert no influence on the fidelity of generated multiple-particle cluster states. From the experimental point of view, smaller operation number and lack of need for individual addressing keeps the schemes easy to implement. These schemes may offer a promising approach to the generation of a large-scale cluster state.

Generation of n-Atom GHZ State via Two-sided Cavity QED

Faqiang Wang

The scheme was proposed to generate multiple-atom GHZ state via the state-of-the-art two-sided cavities.A single-photon pulse could not only be reflected but also be transmitted through the two-sided cavity with a single trapped atom, which is in certain state.Entanglement between the trapped atom and the input field was resulted in this property. The numerical simulations showed that the produced multiple-particle GHZ state had high fidelity and success probability. The intrinsic noise, such as the atomic spontaneous emission, only led to the error probability and had no influence on the fidelity. In addition, the high-Q cavity and the Lamb-Dicke condition of atom were not required, which expanded the possibility of experimental realization.

Creating quantum entanglement between multi-atom Dicke states and two cavity modes

Xu‐Bo Zou, Wolfgang M. Mathis

We present a scheme to create quantum entanglement between multi-atom Dicke states and two cavity modes by passing N three-level atoms in Λ configuration through a resonant two-mode cavity one by one. We further show that such a scheme can be used to generate arbitrary two-mode N-photon entangled states, arbitrary superposition of Dicke states, and a maximal entangled state of Dicke states. These states may find applications in the demonstration of quantum non-locality, high-precision spectroscopy and quantum information processing.

A scheme for preparation of multi-atom entanglement by detecting the cavity decay and analysis of its implementation

L.-M. Duan, Harry J. Kimble

We give the detailed study of a scheme to efficiently engineer multi-atom entanglement by detecting the cavity decay through single-photon detectors. The scheme can be used to prepare arbitrary superpositions of multi-atom Dicke states, without the requirements of high-efficiency detection, separate addressing of different atoms, and full localization of the atoms to the Lamb-Dicke limit. We analyze in detail various sources of noise and imperfections in this experimental scheme, and show that the scheme is robust to the dominant sources of noise and realizable with the state of the art technology.
