Abstract

This paper proposes combining the concepts of quantum computing and big data. The idea of using the concept of quantum computing for processing the big data is suggested. Quantum computing is the advanced computing technology where we think ahead of our conventional binary bits. This is based on the quantum physics which states that a material can be at more than one place at a time. This concept, when used in our conventional computing systems, will have the third bit called the superimposed bit that can be in two states at a time. The term big data is used to refer to the huge amounts of data collected. The data being collected is increasing exponentially. According to a study conducted by McKinsey Global Institute, the data volume is growing 40% every year; and with the increasing number of users and research areas, one can expect much more growth in the data volume. With this kind of growing data, the need arises for faster processing and analysis methods giving better performance to the end users and the analytics. In this paper, a new algorithm, named as PQ-Key, is proposed for processing the big data using quantum computing.

Quantum Computing and Big Data Analytics

Roheen Qamar, Baqar Ali Zardari

Big data is a term that refers to data that exceeds the storage capacity and processing capability of traditional computers, and gaining insight from vast amounts of data is a significant task. Quantum computing saves the day by making numerous promises in information processing systems, including big data insights. Quantum computers are machines that employ quantum physics to store and process data. This could be quite useful for particular applications, where they can significantly outperform even our most powerful supercomputers. In typical computers such as laptops and smartphones, data is stored in binary “bits,” which can be either 0s or 1s. A quantum bit, or qubit, is the basic memory unit of a quantum computer. Regardless of the fact that quantum computing is a relatively new technology, it is already being employed in data analytics. This chapter explains the review of quantum computing and big data, with challenges, analytics, and future.

QUANTUM COMPUTING: A REVIEW ON BIG DATA ANALYTICS AND DATA SECURITY

Aryaman Sharma

The world's most difficult problem during the preceding decade was the big data problem. The big data challenge refers to the fact that data is growing at a much faster rate than computational rates. People, as well as virtually all organizations and scientific institutions, are keeping a rising amount of data as the cost of storage falls every day. Large amounts of data are generated by social activities, scientific inquiries, biological discoveries, and sensor devices. Big data is beneficial to society and economy, but it also poses challenges to scientific communities. Traditional tools, machine learning algorithms, and methodologies cannot handle, manage, or analyze large amounts of data. Quantum computing, in the realm of Big Data, allows businesses to collect and analyze large volumes of data quickly using quantum algorithms. Separate data sets may be detected, analyzed, integrated, and diagnosed with far greater ease. To find patterns, all of the items of a large database can be studied at the same time. As a result, it may be years before quantum computing makes its way into most businesses or becomes a common data analytics tool. Quantum computing will still be a relatively new technology in 2021. Machine learning algorithms are currently improving thanks to breakthroughs in quantum computing technology. There's still a lot to learn about quantum computing's capabilities and the implications of such a strong technology.

Leveraging Quantum Algorithms for Big data Analytics on Cloud Platform

Sreeja K, Jaya Mabel Rani A

We live in the data age. By big data, we mean gigantic and sophisticated data that are difficult to store and analyze using conventional computers. In this modern world, everything boils down to playing around with data. Data is produced from everything we know and from every activity we perform. It is generated from every gadget we use. Big data is vital as it makes it possible for organizations to accumulate, save, and handle colossal quantities of data at the appropriate rate and pulse in order to extract insights. Cloud platforms play a crucial role in big data analysis by providing scalable repositories, powerful computing resources, and affordable solutions for handling this enormous data. Business Intelligence, identifying trends, inferring, and predicting heavily rely on big data analytics. Nowadays, many big data analytic tools are available. However, there are still issues that cannot be solved by even the most refined conventional methods in a stipulated time. The idea of quantum computing was created to offer contemporary ordinary computers access to huge processing power. As quantum computing technology progresses rapidly, it provides a groundbreaking opportunity to enhance cloud computing platforms by carrying out these enormous workloads that classical systems cannot handle. Quantum Cloud Computing is a developing model of computing that enables quantum applications and helps users to operate on quantum computers without being restricted to a physical environment. Some findings related to the concepts of cloud computing, quantum computing, etc., are presented.
