Résumé.- On discute de la compression des fluctuations et de la violation de l’inégalité de Cauchy-Schwarz pour le champ de fluorescence dans le processus de double résonance collective. Abstract.- The squeezing and violation of the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality in the fluorescent field of collective double resonant process are discussed.

Resonance fluorescence from atoms in a cavity

A.S. Shumovsky, Tran Quang

We consider the problem of resonance fluorescence from N two-level atoms interacting with an intense cavity mode. The novel results for the spectral and statistical properties of the fluorescence field, which are quite different from collective resonance fluorescence in a free space, are obtained. The correlation, anti-correlation between spectrum components and violation of the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality are discussed.

A review is made of some quantum effects that have no classical analogs: antibunching and sub-Poisson statistics of photons, violation of the classical Cauchy-Schwarz inequality, and squeezed states of light. Nonclassical effects in the generation of harmonics and collective resonance fluorescence are investigated. Various schemes for generating squeezed states of light are proposed, and conditions for obtaining highly squeezed states are indicated. Possible applications of quantum light are also discussed.
