Abstract

Squeezing via the interaction between the cavity light field and the Bose–Einstein Condensate (BEC) in a double-well potential is considered within the context of the two-mode approximation. For the cavity light field initially in a coherent state, it is shown that by choosing appropriate parameters, quadrature squeezing of the cavity light field can be achieved and it exhibits periodic oscillation. We also study the case in which BEC is tuned to resonance by periodically modulating the trapping potential, and the quadrature squeezing of the cavity field exhibits periodic collapse and revival effect. Both analytic and numerical calculations are performed, and they are found to be in good agreement with each other. The result shows that the quantum statistical properties of the cavity light field can be manipulated by its coupling with the condensates in the double-well potential. On the other hand, dynamical properties of the condensates in the double-well potential will be reflected by the quadrature squeezing of the light field.

Squeezing effect of light caused by Bose-Einstein condensate composed of interac tive atoms

The Hamiltonian operator of a system of single-mode light field interacting with Bose-Einstein condensate(BEC) of two-level atoms is suggested within the rotati ng-wave approximation. The influence of the interaction between atoms in the BEC on the quadrature squeezing properties of single-mode squeezed light interactin g with atomic BEC is studied under Bogoliubov approximation. The results show th at the fluctuations of two quadrature components of light evolve periodically in a cosine law and their squeezing properties are determined mainly by the initia l squeeze factor and squeeze direction angle of light, and that the interaction between atoms in BEC changes the amplitude and period of fluctuation of light.

Squeezing properties of atom laser from two-level atomic Bose-Einstein condensate interacting with two-mode light field

Ming Li, Chen Cui-Ling

The Hamiltonian operator of a system of two-level atomic Bose-Einstein condensate interacting with two-mode squeezed coherent light field is improved in terms of the lattice-liquid model. The squeezing properties of atom laser in this system are studied. Results show that the two quadrature components of the atom laser can be squeezed periodically, and the maximum depth depends greatly on the initial squeezing factor of the light field. The collapse-revival oscillatory frequency of the atom laser and the quantum Rabi frequency are largely determined by the interaction intensity between the light field and the atoms and by the circle frequency of the light field, respectively.

The squeezing properties in the system of two-mode SU (1, 1) coherent states interacting with Bose-Einstein Condensate of two-level atoms

Lei Wang, Sun Chang-yong

The squeezing properties of optical field and atomic laser are studied in the system of two-mode SU (1, 1) coherent states interacting with two-level atomic BEC. The results show that two quadrature components of optical field can be squeezed periodically. The frequency of squeezing of optical field depends closely on both the interaction among atoms in BEC and the coupling constant between optical field and atoms. The maximum depth of squeezing is closely correlated to the two-mode SU (1, 1) coherent states parameters. The two quadrature components of atomic laser also can be squeezed, but it is difficult to squeeze. The maximum depth of squeezing is determined by the initial optical field.

Quantum Dynamical Theory for Squeezed Atom Laser

Jing Hui, Yi-ang Han, Jing‐Ling Chen +1 more

A model for the squeezed output coupler of the trapped Bose-Einstein condensed atoms is established with a simple many-boson system of two states with linear coupling, by preparing an initially squeezed light field. In the Bogoliubov approximation, its solutions show that the quadrature squeezing effect mutually oscillates between the coupling light field and the output atomic field. This manifests that the initially squeezed light will transform into a coherent state after some period of coupling interaction while the output atomic field is in a squeezed state.
