Abstract

We propose a linear optical protocol to generate Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state of N distant photons with the certain success probability. The proposed setup involves simple linear optical elements, N pairs of the two-photon polarization entangled states, and the conventional photon detectors that only distinguish the vacuum and nonvacuum Fock number states. This makes the protocol more realizable in experiments.

Teleportation of an N-photon Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) polarization-entangled state using linear optical elements

With one pair of photons' polarization-entangled state as the quantum channel, we present an explicit generalized linear optical protocol for perfectly teleporting an N-photon Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) polarization-entangled state from a sender to a receiver using only one two-photon polarization-entangled state as the quantum channel. This protocol has the advantage of transmitting much fewer photons and classical information for teleporting the N-photon GHZ polarization-entangled state than others, and the proposed setup involves simple linear optical elements, photon polarization-entangled states, and conventional photon detectors. These make the present protocol more realizable in experiments.

LINEAR OPTICAL PROTOCOL FOR GENERATION OF W STATE WITHIN A NETWORK

Pei-Min Lu, Yan Xia, Jie Song +1 more

We demonstrate a linear optical protocol to generate W state in terms of optical elements within a network. The proposed setup involves simple linear optical elements, N-photon polarization entangled state, and conventional photon detectors that only distinguish the vacuum and nonvacuum Fock number states. We show that with local operations, single-photon measurement, and one way classical communication, the protocol can be successfully realized with a certain probability.

We propose a protocol for the controlled generation of four-photon polarization-entangled decoherence-free states with a certain success probability. The proposed setup involves simple linear optical elements, two single-photon polarzaition entangled states, a pair of two-photon polarization entangled states, and conventional photon detectors that only distinguish the vacuum and nonvacuum Fock number states. This makes the protocol more realizable in experiments.

Preparation and purification of four-photon Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger state

Ying-Qiu He, Dong Ding, Feng-Li Yan +1 more

We present an efficient scheme for the preparing and purifying of the four-photon Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state based on linear optics and postselection. First, we describe how to create a four-photon GHZ state in both polarization and spatial degrees of freedom from two pairs. Moreover, in the presence of depolarization noise our scheme is capable of purifying the desired state. In the regime of weak nonlinearity we design an indirect photon number-resolving detection to distinguish two states of the two pairs. At last, a fourfold coincidence detector click indicates the creation of a polarization-entangled four-photon GHZ state.

Effective protocol for preparation of three-atom Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state and W state with the help of cross-Kerr nonlinearity

Abstract We propose a protocol to generate a Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state andWstate by using simple linear elements and quantum nondemolition detectors (QNDs). With the help of cross-Kerr nonlinearity, our protocol can generate the intended states with only one setup, and the probability of getting a W state is greatly increased when compared with previous schemes [Phys. Rev. A 75 (2007) 044301]. Also, our proposed protocol is realizable in experiments.
