Abstract

We have studied the nonlinear model for interaction of N ions in a trap with a laser beam. By applying two successive unitary transformations, this nonlinear quantum system can be transformed into the multi-levels Jayness–Cummings model. In the end, we can obtain an analytical solution to the two-ion system without performing the Lamb–Dicke approximation, and observe the super-revival phenomenon.

In this paper we investigate the interaction of a single ion in a trap with laser beams. Our approach, based on unitary transformating the Hamiltonian, allows its exact diagonalization without performing the Lamb-Dicke approximation. We obtain a transformed Jaynes-Cummings-type Hamiltonian, and we demonstrate the existence of super-revivals in that system.

We investigate the interaction of a single three-level trapped ion with two laser beams. By applying a unitary transformation and a small rotating transformation, an exact solution to this quantum system is obtained without performing the Lamb–Dicke approximation, and the trapping state is observed.

We have studied the nonlinear model for interaction of N ions in a trap with a laser beam. By applying two successive unitary transformations, the system can be transformed into the Dicke-type model. An approximate solution is obtained with application of the SU(2) algebras.
