Quantum non-Gaussianity from a large ensemble of single photon emitters

Lukáš Lachman, Radim Filip

Quantum attributes of light have been related to non-classicality so far, i. e. to incompatibility with mixtures of coherent states. The progress in quantum optics indicates that this feature does not suffice to witness exotic behavior of light. Contrary, quantum non-Gaussianity is starting to appear as a promising and applicable property reflecting interesting states of light that are suitable for quantum protocols. We investigate a newly introduced hierarchy of criteria of quantum non-Gaussianity and predict this attribute can be observed on light emitted from many single photon emitters, even if the light undergoes realistic optical losses. It contrasts negativity of Wigner function, that is unreachable in experimental platforms with losses above fifty percent.

Phase-sensitive non-classicality criteria for phase-independent quantum states

Th. Richter, W. Vogel

A recently introduced hierarchy of necessary and sufficient conditions for non-classicality of a quantum state [Th. Richter and W. Vogel, Phys. Rev. Lett. 89 283601 (2002)] is applied to the characterization of phase-insensitive quantum states. Even under such conditions it may be important to analyse the relation between different phase values in the quadrature distributions in order to demonstrate the non-classical nature of the state under study.

Nonuniform QCPH Collapse Implies QCPH Collapse

Jeremy Ahrens Huang

Despite the importance of the non-uniform Polynomial-Time Hierarchy (PH/poly) in classical complexity understanding the collapse conditions of the Polynomial-Time Hierarchy (PH), a quantum equivalent of PH/poly has yet to be studied in the literature. We introduce the non-uniform computational Quantum Polynomial-Time Hierarchy (QCPH/mpoly), the quantum equivalent of PH/poly, and show that it collapses if and only if QCPH, the quantum equivalent of PH introduced by Gharibian et al. (comput. complex. 2022), also collapses. We also show that QCPH collapses if coQCMA is contained in QCMA/mpoly. These results are analogous to those of Yap (TCS 1983) commonly used to invoke the collapse of PH in classical complexity. QCPH/mpoly is analogous to QCPH with non-uniform quantum verifier circuits.
