Quantum optics in phase space

Wolfgang P. Schleich

Quantum Optics in Phase Space provides a concise introduction to the rapidly moving field of quantum optics from the point of view of phase space. Modern in style and didactically skillful, Quantum Optics in Phase Space prepares students for their own research by presenting detailed derivations, many illustrations and a large set of workable problems at the end of each chapter. Often, the theoretical treatments are accompanied by the corresponding experiments. An exhaustive list of references provides a guide to the literature. Quantum Optics in Phase Space also serves advanced researchers as

A New Kind of Transformation in Quantum Optics

章舟 ZHANG Zhou, 陈千帆 CHEN Qian-fan, 范洪义 FAN Hong-yi

We find a new kind of integration transformation in quantum optics, which can reflect the Baker-Hausdorff formula as well as establish the transformation between phase space basis and the function space of entangled state. This transformation is invertible and satisfies Parseval-like theorem.Combining Wigner transformation and this new transformation in phase space,We can acquire a new relation between phase space function h(p,q) and corresponding Weyl-Wigner operator, which can benefit the development of quantum phase space theory.

Time and Frequency description of Optical Pulses

Ludmiła Praxmeyer, Wodkiewicz, Krzysztof

The connection between the time-dependent physical spectrum of light and the phase space overlap of Wigner functions is investigated for optical pulses. Time and frequency properties of optical pulses with chirp are analyzed using the phase space Wigner and Ambiguity distribution functions. It is shown that optical pulses can exhibit interesting phenomena, very much reminiscent of quantum mechanical interference, quantum entanglement of wave packets, and quantum sub-Planck structures of the time and frequency phase space.
