Path integral over the generalized coherent states

Abstract

A path integral written in terms of the group theoretic coherent states by using the Kähler structure of the coherent state manifold with the particular emphasis on the boundary-fixing term derivation is considered herein. The path integral for a propagator of the system with Hamiltonian linear in the SU(2)/SU(1,1) generators is shown to be diagonalized by an appropriate motion in the phase space.

SU(2) coherent-state path integral

E. A. Kochetov

The SU(2) coherent-state path integral is used to represent the matrix element of a propagator in the SU(2) coherent-state basis. It is argued that the continuum representation of this integral is correct provided the necessary boundary term is taken into account. In the case of the SU(2) dynamical symmetry the path integral is explicitly computed by means of a change of variables, the SU(2) motion of the underlying phase space. The correct stationary-phase expansion for the propagator in terms of the total action including boundary term and classical trajectories is obtained.

Coherent state path integral for linear systems

Charles G Torre

We present a computation of the coherent state path integral for a generic linear system using ``functional methods'' (as opposed to discrete time approaches). The Gaussian phase space path integral is formally given by a determinant built from a first-order differential operator with coherent state boundary conditions. We show how this determinant can be expressed in terms of the symplectic transformation generated by the (in general, time-dependent) quadratic Hamiltonian for the system. We briefly discuss the conditions under which the coherent state path integral for a linear system actually exists. A necessary---but not sufficient---condition for existence of the path integral is that the symplectic transformation generated by the Hamiltonian is (unitarily) implementable on the Fock space for the system.

Path integral in the representation of SU(2) coherent state and classical dynamics in a generalized phase space

Hiroshi Kuratsuji, T. Suzuki

Path integral in the representation of coherent state for the simplest semisimple Lie group SU(2) and its classical consequences are investigated. Using the completeness relation of the coherent state, we derive a path integral expression for the transition amplitude which connects a pair of SU(2) coherent states. In the classical limit we arrive at a canonical equation of motion in a ’’curved phase space’’ (two-dimensional sphere) which reproduces the ordinary Euler’s equation of a rigid body when applied to a rotator.

Path integral formalism for SUq(2) coherent states

Renshan Gong

A path integral formulation in the representation of coherent states for the quantum group SU q (2) is introduced. An expression for the transition amplitude connecting two SU q (2) coherent states is constructed, and the corresponding canonical equations of motion are also derived.

Coherent-state path integral for a transition amplitude: A theory and applications

E. A. Kochetov, Vladimir Sergeevich Yarunin

The analytical methods of path integral (PI) calculations are presented for transition matrix elements in a basis of the generalized coherent states (CS'). Appropriate transformations in phase space are found and the stationary-phase method is developed with a particular emphasis on the PI boundary terms. Examples demonstrate the application of the general scheme for spin systems and the tests of the accuracy of the semiclassical approximation in nonlinear dynamics.
