Atomic coherence control on the entanglement of two atoms in two-photon processes

Abstract

Considering two identical two-level atoms interacting with a single-mode thermal field through two-photon processes, this paper studies the atomic coherence control on the entanglement between two two-level atoms, and finds that the entanglement is greatly enhanced due to the initial atomic coherence. The results show that the entanglement can be manipulated by changing the initial parameters of the system, such as the superposition coefficients and the relative phases of the initial atomic coherent state and the mean photon number of the cavity field.

Coherence-Enhanced Entanglement Induced by a Two-Mode Thermal Field

Yao-Hua Hu, Mao-Fa Fang

Considering two identical two-level atoms interacting with two mode thermal field through a nondegerate two-photon process, we study the entanglement dynamics between two atoms when the atomic coherence exists. It shows that the entanglement is dependent on the initial atomic states, and is greatly enhanced due to atomic coherence as compared with the case when the atomic coherence is ignored. The results also show that the entanglement can be controlled by changing the relative phases and the amplitudes of the polarized atoms.

Coherence-enhanced entanglement between two atoms at high temperature

Yao-Hua Hu, Mao-Fa Fang, Chunlei Jiang +1 more

This paper studies the entanglement properties in a system of two dipole—dipole coupled two-level atoms resonantly interacting with a single-mode thermal field. The results show that, when the temperature of the cavity is high enough (corresponding to the large value of the mean photon number), the entanglement is greatly enhanced due to the initial atomic coherence. These results are helpful for controlling the atomic entanglement by changing the initial parameters of the system.

Coherence-enhanced and -controlled entanglement of two atoms in a single-mode thermal field

Xian-ying Wang, Si-de Du, Xiao-shuang Chen

We have investigated the entanglement of two identical two-level atoms in a single-mode thermal reservoir when these two atoms are initially prepared in coherent states. It is discovered that the dynamical entanglement is greatly enhanced due to initial atomic coherence as compared with the case when the atoms are initially prepared in incoherent states. It is very valuable that we can manipulate the atomic entanglement by changing the relative phases and amplitudes of the polarized atoms.

Entanglement between two qubits one of which interacts with a thermal field

Eugene K. Bashkirov, Michail S. Mastyugin

In this paper, we have investigated the entanglement between two dipole coupled two-level atoms. The model, in which only one atom is trapped in an lossless cavity and interacts with single-mode thermal field, and the other one can be spatially moved freely outside the cavity has been carried out. We have considered the effect of the atomic coherence on the entanglement behavior. We have shown that a thermal field might cause high entanglement between the atoms both for coherent and incoherent initial atomic states only for small values of the cavity mean photon number. In the considered model the atoms would get entangled even when both atoms are initially in the excited state. We have also derived that the degree of entanglement is weakly dependent on the strength of dipole-dipole interaction for coherent initial states.

Control atomic entanglement by the initial atomic coherence

Eugene K. Bashkirov

We study the entanglement properties of a pair of two-level atoms going through a thermal cavity one after another. The initial joint states of two successive atoms that enter the cavity are coherent or entangled. Using the exact solution of density matrix evolution equation we calculated the negativity for different values of cavity mean photon numbers. We shown the possibility to save the initial atomic entanglement even for a thermal cavity field with relatively high temperature.

Preparation and control of entangled states in the two-mode coherent fields interacting with a moving atom via two-photon process

Xiaojuan Liu, Bingju Zhou, Liu Ming-Wei +1 more

We investigate the preparation and the control of entangled states in a system with the two-mode coherent fields interacting with a moving two-level atom via the two-photon transition. We discuss entanglement properties between the two-mode coherent fields and a moving two-level atom by using the quantum reduced entropy, and those between the two-mode coherent fields by using the quantum relative entropy. In addition, we examine the influences of the atomic motion and field-mode structure parameter p on the quantum entanglement of the system. Our results show that the period and the duration of the prepared maximal atom-field entangled states and the frequency of maximal two-mode field entangled states can be controlled, and that a sustained entangled state of the two-mode field, which is independent of atomic motion and the evolution time, can be obtained, by choosing appropriately the parameters of atomic motion, field-mode structure, initial state and interaction time of the system.
