Abstract

We investigate the many-anyon quantum-mechanical system of multi-species and obtain algebraically the energy and the angular momentum eigenstates in a harmonic potential well, in a constant magnetic field and of free system using ladder operators. The eigenvalues and their multiplicity of the eigenstates are given.

ANYONS IN A MAGNETIC FIELD: LANDAU LEVELS AND VERTEX OPERATOR REPRESENTATION

Gerald V. Dunne, Alberto Lerda A, Carlo A. Trugenberger

We construct exact many-body eigenstates of both energy and angular momentum for the N-anyon problem in an external magnetic field. Such states span the full ground-state eigenspace and have a natural representation in terms of the Fubini-Veneziano vertex operators of string theory.

LANDAU LEVELS AND VERTEX OPERATIONS FOR ANYONS

Gerald V. Dunne, Alberto Lerda A, Carlo A. Trugenberger

We construct exact many-body eigenstates of both energy and angular momentum for the N-anyon problem in an external magnetic field. We show that such states span the full ground state eigenspace and arise as correlation functions of Fubini-Veneziano vertex operators of string theory.

Universal ladder operators for angular momentum

Ni Zhi

Using the latest developed theory on the nonlinear algebra,an algebraic equation which the general ladder operators for angular momentum must satisfy is obtained. These ladder operators are constructed which can shift the angular quantum numbers and the magnetic quantum numbers for all kinds of angular momentum eigenstates.

One-Dimensional Many-Fermion System. I: Exact Solution in a Field Theoretical Framework

T. Kebukawa

The eigenvalue problem in a one-dimensional system of many fermions interacting via a delta-function potential is solved exactly in a field theoretical framework. Simultaneous eigenstates of spin and energy are represented in a systematic and compact form, that is, in such a form that the orbital and spin eigenfunctions are unified in harmony without the aid of Young’s tableau. The eigenstate and energy eigenvalue are specified by two sets of quantum numbers, particle momenta and spin momenta, besides two eigenvalues of a total spin angular momentum and its z-component. It is shown that for given particle momenta and spin momenta the energy eigenvalue is given by the solutions of coupled equations.

Energy spectrum of anyons in a magnetic field

Fabrizio Illuminati

For the many-anyon system in an external magnetic field, we derive the energy spectrum as an exact solution of the quantum eigenvalue problem with particular topological constraints. Our results agree with the numerical spectra recently obtained for the three- and the four-anyon systems.

q-DEFORMED ALGEBRAS AND THE TWO-ANYON PROBLEM

Pinaki Roy

It is shown that the two-anyon system in a harmonic oscillator potential and in a constant magnetic field admits certain q-deformed symmetry algebras realized over the space of wave functions of the respective systems.
