New nonlinear coherent states based on hypergeometric-type operators

Abstract

The main goal of this paper is to present an alternative method to construct new kinds of nonlinear coherent states. To do this, we first establish a class of hypergeometric type of generalized displacement operators, 1 F r ([0], [0, 1, ..., r − 1], za †), act on the vacuum state of the harmonic oscillator and generate normalized quantum states of the Fock space which admit a resolution of the identity through a positive definite measure on the complex plane. Furthermore, realization of the compact form of these states, as functions of the position coordinate x for r = 2, leads to a generating function of the Hermite polynomials in terms of the modified Bessel function. Finally, studying some statistical characters reveals that they have indeed non-classical features such as squeezing, an anti-bunching effect and sub-Poissonian statistics, too.

SU(1,1) Nonlinear Coherent States

B. Mojaveri, Alireza Dehghani

The idea of construction of the nonlinear coherent states based on the hypergeometric- type operators associated to the Weyl-Heisenberg group [J:P hys:A 45(2012) 095304], are generalized to the similar states for the arbitrary Lie group SU(1, 1). By using of a discrete, unitary and irreducible representation of the Lie algebra su(1, 1) wide range of generalized nonlinear coherent states(GNCS) have been introduced, which admit a resolution of the identity through positive definite measures on the complex plane. We have shown that realization of these states for different values of the deformation pa- rameters r = 1 and 2 lead to the well-known Klauder-Perelomov and Barut-Girardello coherent states associated to the Irreps of the Lie algebra su(1, 1), respectively. It is worth to mention that, like the canonical coherent states, GNCS possess the temporal stability property. Finally, studying some statistical characters implies that they have indeed nonclassical features such as squeezing, anti-bunching effect and sub-Poissonian statistics, too.

New class of generalized photon-added coherent states and some of their non-classical properties

B. Mojaveri, Alireza Dehghani, S Mahmoodi

In this paper, we construct a new class of generalized photon added coherent states (GPACSs), by excitations on a newly introduced family of generalized coherent states (GCSs) (A Dehghani and B Mojaveri 2012 J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 45 095304 ), obtained via generalized hypergeometric type displacement operators acting on the vacuum state of the simple harmonic oscillator. We show that these states realize resolution of the identity property through positive definite measures on the complex plane. Meanwhile, we demonstrate that the introduced states can also be interpreted as nonlinear coherent states (NLCSs), with a spacial nonlinearity function. Finally, some of their non-classical features as well as their quantum statistical properties are compared with Agarwalʼs photon-added coherent states (PACSs),

Generalized complex Hermite polynomials with associated nonlinear coherent states

Khalid Ahbli, Fouzia El Wassouli, Zouhaı̈r Mouayn

While dealing with a class of generalized complex Hermite polynomials, we discuss some of their basic properties and we give operational formulae of Burchnall-type. New results, including a Nielsen identity, a generating function and a Runge addition formula are derived. These polynomials may also be used to define a set of nonlinear coherent states for the harmonic oscillator. They may also be viewed as eigenfunctions of a Landau-type operator.

New generalized coherent states

K. A. Penson, A. I. Solomon

We construct a new family of boson coherent states using a specially designed function which is a solution of a functional equation dε(q,x)/dx=ε(q,qx) with 0⩽q⩽1 and ε(q,0)=1. We use this function in place of the usual exponential to generate new coherent states |q,z〉 from the vacuum, which are normalized and continuous in their label z. These states allow the resolution of unity, and a corresponding weight function is furnished by the exact solution of the associated Stieltjes moment problem. They also permit exact evaluation of matrix elements of an arbitrary polynomial given as a normally-ordered function of boson operators. We exemplify this by showing that the photon number statistics for these states is sub-Poissonian. For any q<1 the states |q,z〉 are squeezed; we obtain and discuss their signal to quantum noise ratio. The function ε(q,x) allows a natural generation of multiboson coherent states of arbitrary multiplicity, which is impossible for the usual coherent states. For q=1 all the above results reduce to those for conventional coherent states. Finally, we establish a link with q-deformed bosons.

Quantum statistical properties of multiphoton hypergeometric coherent states and the discrete circle representation

S. Arjika, M. Calixto, J. Guerrero

We review the definition of hypergeometric coherent states, discussing some representative examples. Then, we study mathematical and statistical properties of hypergeometric Schrödinger cat states, defined as orthonormalized eigenstates of kth powers of nonlinear f-oscillator annihilation operators, with f of the hypergeometric type. These “k-hypercats” can be written as an equally weighted superposition of hypergeometric coherent states ∣zl⟩, l = 0, 1, …, k − 1, with zl = ze2πil/k a kth root of zk, and they interpolate between number and coherent states. This fact motivates a continuous circle representation for high k. We also extend our study to truncated hypergeometric functions (finite dimensional Hilbert spaces), and a discrete exact circle representation is provided. We also show how to generate k-hypercats by amplitude dispersion in a Kerr medium and analyze their generalized Husimi Q-function in the super- and sub-Poissonian cases at different fractions of the revival time.

A New Kind of Even and Odd Nonlinear Coherent States and Their Quantum Statistical Properties

Yongxin Zhan

In the paper, a new kind of even and odd nonlinear coherent states is constructed in the Fock space. By using numerical method, their quantum statistical properties such as amplitude-squeezing and anti-bunching are investigated. These results show that in the range of , the new kind of even and odd coherent states appear amplitude-squeezing effect in the direction X2 and anti-bunching effect.
