Entanglement and quantum criticality in spin chains

X. X. Yi, H. T. Cui, L. C. Wang

A relation between entanglement and criticality of spin chains is established. The entanglement we exploit is shared between auxiliary particles, which are isolated from each other, but are coupled to the same critical spin-1/2 chain. We analytically evaluate the reduced density matrix, and numerically show the entanglement of the auxiliary particles in the proximity of the critical points of the spin chain. We find that the entanglement induced by a critical many-body system may reach one, and it can signal very well the critical points of the spin chain. A physical understanding and experimental realization with trapped ions are presented.

Transient entanglement in a spin chain stimulated by phase pulses

Isabel Sainz, Gennadiy N Burlak, A. B. Klimov

Dynamics of the one-dimensional open Ising chain under influence of $π$ -pulses is studied. It is shown that the application of a specific sequence of such instant kicks to selective spins stimulates arising of perfect dynamical pairwise entanglement between ends of the spin chain. Analytic formulas for the concurrence dynamics are derived. It is also shown that the time required to perfectly entangle the ends of the chains grows linearly with the number of spins in the chain. The final entangled state of the ending spins is always the same and does not depend on length the chain.

Spin‐Chain‐Star Systems: Entangling Multiple Chains of Spin Qubits

Roberto Grimaudo, Antonio S. M. de Castro, Antonino Messina +1 more

Abstract We consider spin‐chain‐star systems characterized byN‐wise many‐body interactions between the spins in each chain and the central one. We show that such systems can be exactly mapped into standard spin‐star systems through unitary transformations. Such an approach allows the solution of the dynamic problem of an spin‐chain‐star model and transparently shows the emergence of quantum correlations in the system, based on the idea of entanglement between chains.
