Abstract

A closed system of equations for the local Bloch vectors and spin correlation functions of three magnetic qubits with exchange interaction, which are in an arbitrary, time-dependent, external magnetic field, is obtained using decomplexification of the Liouville–Neuman equations. A numerical comparative analysis of entanglement measures is performed as a function of the initial conditions and modulation of the magnetic field. The investigation could find applications for the analysis of interference experiments and manipulation of quantum qubits.

Three-qubit dynamics of entanglement in magnetic field

Е. А. Иванченко

A closed system of the equations for the local Bloch vectors and spin correlation functions is obtained by decomplexification of the Liouville-von Neumann equation for three magnetic qubits with the exchange interaction, that takes place in an arbitrary time-dependent external magnetic field. The numerical comparative analysis of entanglement is carried out depending on initial conditions and the magnetic field modulation. The present study may be useful for analysis of interference experiments and in the field of quantum computing.

E. A. Ivanchenko

A closed system of equations for the local Bloch vectors and spin correlation functions of three magnetic qudits, which are in an arbitrary, time-dependent, external magnetic field, is obtained using decomplexification of the Liouville–von Neumann equation. The algorithm of the derivation of the dynamic equations is presented. In the basis convenient for the important physical applications, structure constants of algebra su(2S+1) are calculated.

ENTANGLEMENT DYNAMICS IN FINITE QUDIT CHAIN IN CONSISTENT MAGNETIC FIELD

E. A. IVANCHENKO

Based on the Liouville–von Neumann equation, we obtain a closed system of equations for the description of a qutrit or coupled qutrits in an arbitrary, time-dependent, external magnetic field. The dependence of the dynamics on the initial states and the magnetic field modulation is studied analytically and numerically. We compare the relative entanglement measure's dynamics in bi-qudits with permutation particle symmetry. We find the magnetic field modulation which retains the entanglement in the system of two coupled qutrits. Analytical formulae for the entanglement measures in finite chains from two to six qutrits or three quartits are presented.

DYNAMICS OF ENTANGLEMENT FOR ONE-DIMENSIONAL SPIN SYSTEMS IN AN EXTERNAL TIME-DEPENDENT MAGNETIC FIELD

Zhen Huang, Sabre Kais

We study the dynamics of entanglement for the XY-model, one-dimensional spin systems coupled through the nearest neighbor exchange interaction and subject to an external time-dependent magnetic field. Using the two-site density matrix, we calculate the time-dependent entanglement of formation between nearest neighbor qubits. We investigate the effect of varying the temperature, the anisotropy parameter and the external time-dependent magnetic field on the entanglement. We have found that the entanglement can be localized between nearest neighbor qubits for certain values of the external time-dependent magnetic field. Moreover, as known for the magnetization of this model, the entanglement shows nonergodic behavior, it does not approach its equilibrium value at the infinite time limit.

Entanglement evolution of one-dimensional spin systems in external magnetic fields

Zhen Huang, Sabre Kais

We study the dynamics of entanglement for a one-dimensional spin system, where spins are coupled through nearest-neighbor exchange interaction and subject to different external magnetic fields. First we examine the system size effect on the entanglement with three different external magnetic fields changing with time $t$: an exponential function ${e}^{[\ensuremath{-}Kt]}$ and two periodic $\mathrm{sin}[Kt]$ and $\mathrm{cos}[Kt]$ functions, where $K$ is a control parameter. We have found that the entanglement fluctuates shortly after a disturbance by an external magnetic field when the system size is small. For larger system size, the entanglement reaches a stable state for a long time before it fluctuates. However, this fluctuation of entanglement disappears when the system size goes to infinity. We also show that in a periodic external magnetic field, the nearest-neighbor entanglement displays a periodic structure with a period related to that of the magnetic field. Moreover, changing the direction of the magnetic field will destroy the concurrence in the system.
