Abstract

We propose a simple scheme for realizing two-qubit logic gate in cavity QED. In our scheme, the quantum controlled-not gate, phase gate and swap gate can be implemented without the ancillary level. The quantum controlled-not gate and phase gate can be realized easily by only one interaction between atoms and a highly detuned cavity mode with the assistance of a strong classical field. Thus, the scheme is insensitive to both the cavity decay and the thermal field.

A scheme is proposed for the realization of quantum SWAP gate in cavity QED.We consider two three-level atoms simultaneously interact with single-mode cavity in the case of large detuning. Moreover, two classical fields are used to perform the rotations on atoms. The operation and implement course are simple and handy. In addition, during the whole course, the cavity is only virtually excited, thus the decoherence time is greatly prolonged and the demand on the quality factor of the cavity is greatly reduced.Within the present cavity QED techniques, the scheme is realizable.

Efficient Scheme for Implementing the Deutsch-Jozsa Algorithm in Cavity QED

Xue-Ke Song, Liu Ye

A scheme is proposed for implementing a two-qubit quantum logic gate and realizing the Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm in cavity QED. In the scheme a three-level atom interacts with highly detuned cavity modes. The gate is not affected by the atomic decay rates because of the metastable lower levels are involved in the gate operations. The Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm is easily realized with current experimental techniques.

A scheme for quantum logic gate based on coherent-state qubits in cavity QED system

Shi-Qing Tang, Shunlong Luo, Jiayi Xu

A two-qubit quantum swap gate scheme based on coherent state qubit is proposed in cavity quantum electrodynamics system. Our scheme adopt the interaction between the Λ-type atomic ensemble and the two-mode optical cavity, and the swap gate can be realized directly only one step, so as to save a lot of quantum resources and reduce the number of single qubit rotation operations in the actual quantum information processing. It is found that under the condition of large detuning limit, the excited states of atoms are adiabatically eliminated, and the decoherence caused by the spontaneous emission of atoms is effectively suppressed. All atoms in the optical cavity are universally addressed, which reduces the experimental operation difficulty of the scheme. The fidelity of the quantum logic gate is maintained at a very high level when the photon loss of the cavity field is considered. Compared with the single-atom scheme, it is found that the atom-cavity interaction time required by the atomic ensemble scheme is inversely proportional to the number of atoms, so that the speed of the quantum logic gate can be increased by N times. Therefore, in principle, as long as enough atoms interacting with the optical field, an effective coupling of any atom-cavity field can be generated, which is conducive to selecting the appropriate quantum gate operation time in practical operation and effectively avoiding decoherence.

A scheme for realizing a multi-qubit phase gate with one control qubit simultaneously controlling n target qubits in a cavity QED system is proposed. The operation time of the gate is independent of the number n of qubits. The realizability of the gate with current technology is also discussed.

Implementation of a Two-Atom (swap) 1/2 Gate in Cavity QED

Liu Qi, Liu Ye

We implement a two-atom (swap) 1/2 gate via cavity QED. During the preparation, a cavity-assisted collision between atoms is required, and this does not need any auxiliary atom. The cavity is only virtually excited, thus our scheme is insensitive to the cavity field states and to the cavity decay. The scheme can be implemented by the present cavity QED techniques.

Realization of Three-Qubit Controlled-Phase Gate Operation with Atoms in Cavity QED System

Shi-Qing Tang, Deng-Yu Zhang, Xie Li-Jun +2 more

We propose a scheme for realization of three-qubit controlled-phase gate via passing two three-level atoms through a high-Q optical cavity in a cavity QED system. In the presented protocol, the two stable ground states of the atoms act as the two controlling qubits and the zero- and one-photon Fock states of the cavity-field form the target qubit, and no auxiliary state or any measurement is required. The numerical simulation shows that the gate fidelities remain at a high level under the influence of the atomic spontaneous emission, the decay of the cavity mode and deviation of the coupling strength. The experimental feasibility of our proposal is also discussed.
