Abstract

It is shown that the Anderson Hamiltonian is one of the Hamiltonians which can be solved exactly by means of the Bethe ansatz method. The thermodynamic quantities calculated on the basis of the exact solution are the magnetic susceptibility and the electronic specific heat.

Thermodynamic Properties of the Asymmetric Anderson Model: Specific Heat

Norio Kawakami, Ayao Okiji

The specific heat for the asymmetric Anderson model is calculated over a physically relevant temperature range by means of the Bethe-Ansatz method. The effect of a magnetic field on the specific heat is also investigated.

Thermodynamics of the Kondo model with electronic interactions

Shi-Jian Gu, You‐Quan Li, Hai-Qing Lin

On the basis of the Bethe ansatz solution of the one-dimensional Kondo model with electronic interaction, the thermodynamics equilibrium of the system at finite temperature is studied in terms of the strategy of Yang and Yang. The string hypothesis in the spin rapidity is discussed extensively. The thermodynamics quantities, such as the specific heat and the magnetic susceptibility, are obtained.

Finite-basis many-electron approximation to the Anderson model

Jay D. Mancini, Samuel P. Bowen, Yu Zhou

A relatively simple many-electron basis is used to construct a matrix for the Anderson impurity Hamiltonian. The basis states are each valid in the thermodynamic limit. The approximate ground-state energy compares well with Bethe-ansatz results for large Coulomb energies. The ground-state wave-function properties are not as well approximated. This method may be well suited to studies of more realistic Hamiltonians and their ground-state energy and its derivatives.

Thermodynamic properties of a 4-level Anderson model

G. Piccitto, M. Baldo, R. Pucci

We present exact numerical results for the thermodyamic properties of a 4-level Anderson model. Ground state and excited states energies, average occupation numbers, susceptibility, specific heat, spin and charge fluctuations, spin-spin correlation functions are derived. The results are presented as a function of the temperature for several values of the Coulomb repulsion integral. Drastic changes of the calculated quantities appear in correspondence of the excited state energies for some critical values of the parameters. The results are in qualitative agreement with some other Anderson model calculations.

We review how to obtain the thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz (TBA) equations for the antiferromagnetic Heisenberg ring in an external magnetic field. We review how to solve these equations for low temperature and small field, and calculate the specific heat and magnetic susceptibility.

Low-temperature features of thermodynamics of an open isotropic Heisenberg chain

Andrei A. Zvyagin, A. V. Makarova

Low-temperature magnetic susceptibility and specific heat of an antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain with open boundary conditions are calculated with the help of the exact Bethe ansatz method. These characteristics behave with temperature in a different way from those of a periodic chain.
