Diagonalization of the generalized squeeze operators and the generalized squeezed number states

Abstract

The generalized single-mode and two-mode squeeze operators are diagonalized by employing Bogolyubov and Bogolyubov-Valatin transformations, and the unitary operators performing these transformations are derived. The authors find that the eigenvalues are complex exponential functions with the exponential factors of harmonic-oscillator spectra and the eigenstates are a new kind of squeezed number state different from the ordinary squeezed number states.

Squeezed Number State Solutions of Generalized Two-Mode Harmonic Oscillators Model: an Algebraic Approach

Shuo Jin, Bing-Hao Xie, Hongbiao Zhang +1 more

Some analytical solutions of generalized two-mode harmonic oscillators model are obtained by utilizing an algebraic diagonalization method. We find two types of eigenstates which are formulated as extended SU(1,1), SU(2) squeezed number states respectively. Some statistical properties of these states are also discussed.

A Compact Exponential Operator for Generating Rotating and Squeezing Transformations

Fan Hong‐Yi

We point out that the compact exponential operator (where are real; and are momentum and coordinate operators, respectively; the units of is taken, and are harmonic oscillator's mass and frequency, respectively) is a generalized single-mode squeeze operator which can generate mixed squeezing and rotating transformations. The decomposition of as a product of a squeeze operator and a rotating operator is derived through the technique of integration within an ordered product. The fluctuation in quadrature phases for the squeezed vacuum state generated by is analyzed.

BCS states as squeezed fermion-pair states

W.S. Liu, X.P. Li

A new formulation of the Bogoliubov-Valatin transformation explicitly parameter-dependent and with no quasiparticle operators is derived and applied to a diagonalization of the BCS reduced Hamiltonian in the particle space. It is shown that the eigenstates of this Hamiltonian are just the BCS states and are a kind of squeezed fermion-pair states as well.

Eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the generalized squeeze operator

Chi‐Fai Lo

The author has constructed the eigenfunctions and eigenvalue spectrum for the generalized squeeze operator in the Hilbert space of entire functions. Proper eigenstates exist only for beta > mod alpha mod with a discrete eigenvalue spectrum resembling that of a displaced simple harmonic oscillator, whereas for beta < mod alpha mod the generalized squeeze operator has continuum eigenfunctions only.

Anharmonic oscillators and generalized squeezed states

Davood Afshar, Mojtaba Jafarpour

We present a new method to study the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of anharmonic oscillators. It involves a new class of Bogoliubov transformations and leads to the introduction of k-photon coherent states. We consider the Hamiltonians for the simple harmonic and anharmonic oscillators as the two generators of a Lie algebra, whose other generators may be found exactly, or up to any desired order of the perturbation parameter involved. An element of this Lie group, turning out to be the multi-photon operator, transforms the anharmonic Hamiltonian to the harmonic one, thus facilitating the calculation of the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the former. The transformation of the ordinary annihilation and creation operators leads to generalized ones, corresponding to generalized oscillation modes, and also helps us out to introduce multi-photon coherent states. We specifically consider four-photon coherent states in detail and study time dependent position and momentum uncertainties in these states.
