Single-step multipartite entangled states generation from coupled circuit cavities

Xiao-Tao Mo, Zheng‐Yuan Xue

Green–Horne–Zeilinger states are a typical type of multipartite entangled states, which plays a central role in quantum information processing. For the generation of multipartite entangled states, the singlestep method is more preferable as the needed time will not increase with the increasing of the qubit number. However, this scenario has a strict requirement that all two-qubit interaction strengths should be the same, or the generated state will be of low quality. Here, we propose a scheme for generating multipartite entangled states of superconducting qubits, from a coupled circuit cavities scenario, where we rigorously achieve the requirement via adding an extra z -direction ac classical field for each qubit, leading the individual qubit-cavity coupling strength to be tunable in a wide range, and thus can be tuned to the same value. Meanwhile, in order to obtain our wanted multi-qubits interaction, xdirection ac classical field for each qubit is also introduced. By selecting the appropriate parameters, we numerically shown that high-fidelity multi-qubit GHZ states can be generated. In addition, we also show that the coupled cavities scenario is better than a single cavity case. Therefore, our proposal represents a promising alternative for multipartite entangled states generation.

Parity-dependent state transfer for direct entanglement generation

Federico Roy, João H. Romeiro, L. Koch +19 more

As quantum information technologies advance, challenges in scaling and connectivity persist, particularly the need for long-range qubit connectivity and efficient entanglement generation. Perfect State Transfer enables time-optimal state transfer between distant qubits using only nearest-neighbor couplings, enhancing device connectivity. Moreover, the transfer protocol results in effective parity-dependent non-local interactions, extending its utility to entanglement generation. Here, we experimentally demonstrate Perfect State Transfer and multi-qubit entanglement generation on a chain of six superconducting transmon qubits with tunable couplers, controlled via parametric drives. By simultaneously activating and engineering all couplings, we implement the transfer for up to six qubits, verifying single-excitation dynamics for different initial states. Extending the protocol to multiple excitations, we confirm its parity-dependent nature, where excitation number controls the phase of the transferred state. Finally, leveraging this property, we prepare a Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state using a single transfer operation, showcasing potential of Perfect State Transfer for efficient entanglement generation.

Quasi-lattices of qubits for generating inequivalent multipartite entanglements

Hou Ian

The mesoscopic scale of superconducting qubits makes their inter-spacings comparable to the scale of wavelength of a circuit cavity field to which they commonly couple. This comparability results in inhomogeneous coupling strengthes for each qubit and hence asynchronous Rabi excitation cycles among the qubits that form a quasi-lattice. We find that such inhomogeneous coupling benefits the formation of multi-photon resonances between the single-mode cavity field and the quasi-lattice. The multi-photon resonances lead, in turn, to the simultaneous generation of inequivalent GHZ and W types of multipartite entanglement states, which are not transformable to each other through local operations with classical communications. Applying the model on the 3-qubit quasi-lattice and using the entanglement measures of both concurrence and 3-tangle, we verify that the inhomogeneous coupling specifically promotes the generation of the totally inseparable GHZ state.
