Abstract

We propose two schemes for the implementation of the universal quantum cloning machine in the ion trap system. The required experimental techniques are within the scope of what can be obtained in the ion trap setup. The experimental implementation of the schemes not only provides a test of fundamental aspects of quantum physics, but also is useful for quantum information processing.

Implementation of a quantum cloning machine via an ion-trap system

Tao Wu, Bao‐Long Fang, Liu Ye

We propose a scheme to realize a quantum cloning machine in an ion-trap system. In the scheme, the optimal 1→2 symmetric universal quantum cloning and the optimal 1→2 phase-covariant quantum cloning can be realized. The required experimental techniques of the scheme are in the range of what can be obtained in the ion-trap setup. Therefore, the scheme can be realized with presently available ion-trap techniques.

Implementing a Universal Quantum Cloning Machine via Adiabatic Evolution in Ion-Trap System

Rong‐Can Yang, Hongcai Li, Lin Xiu +2 more

A scheme for the realization of a universal quantum cloning machine is proposed in this paper. The present protocol does not need the vibrational mode to act as the memory and it is robust against small changes of experimental parameters due to adiabatic passages. Furthermore, the scheme may be realized based on current technology.

Scheme for the Implementation of 1→2 Optimal Universal and Phase-covariant Quantum Cloning in Ion-trap Systems

We propose a scheme which can simultaneously implement 1→ 2 optimal universal and phase-covariant quantum cloning in ion-trap systems. The required time for the whole procedure is short based on the resonant interaction, which is important in view of decoherence. Our scheme is feasible on the bases of present techniques.

SCHEME FOR QUANTUM CLONING AND QUANTUM INFORMATION PROCESSING WITH TRAPPED IONS

Zhiming Zhan

In this paper, a scheme is presented to implement the 1→2 universal quantum cloning machine (UQCM) with trapped ions. In this way, we also show that quantum information can be directly transferred from one ion to another. The distinct advantage of the scheme lies in the fact that it does not use the vibrational mode as the data bus. The vibrational mode is only virtually excited, which makes our scheme insensitive to heating, provided the system remains in the Lamb–Dicke regime.
