Abstract

We propose a scheme to realize a quantum cloning machine in an ion-trap system. In the scheme, the optimal 1→2 symmetric universal quantum cloning and the optimal 1→2 phase-covariant quantum cloning can be realized. The required experimental techniques of the scheme are in the range of what can be obtained in the ion-trap setup. Therefore, the scheme can be realized with presently available ion-trap techniques.

Schemes for implementation of a universal quantum cloning machine in an ion trap

Shi‐Biao Zheng

We propose two schemes for the implementation of the universal quantum cloning machine in the ion trap system. The required experimental techniques are within the scope of what can be obtained in the ion trap setup. The experimental implementation of the schemes not only provides a test of fundamental aspects of quantum physics, but also is useful for quantum information processing.

This paper proposes a scheme for the implementation of 1 → 3 optimal phase-covariant quantum cloning with trapped ions. In the present protocol, the required time for the whole procedure is short due to the resonant interaction, which is important in view of decoherence. Furthermore, the scheme is feasible based on current technologies.

Tunable optimal quantum cloning machines with trapped atoms

Wei Xiong, Ye Liu

We propose a scheme to realize tunable optimal quantum cloning machines with trapped atoms. Through selecting a pairing of Raman transitions and choosing suitable parameters of the external fields, we can not only realize an optimal symmetric (asymmetric) universal quantum cloning machine and phase-covariant cloning machine, but also an optimal symmetric economical phase-covariant cloning machine. Additionally, the atomic excited states and photonic states can be adiabatically eliminated. In our scheme, the quantum cloning machine can copy the information from one trapped atom to arbitrary two distant trapped atoms, which is significant to quantum communication and quantum computation.

Implementing a Universal Quantum Cloning Machine via Adiabatic Evolution in Ion-Trap System

Rong‐Can Yang, Hongcai Li, Lin Xiu +2 more

A scheme for the realization of a universal quantum cloning machine is proposed in this paper. The present protocol does not need the vibrational mode to act as the memory and it is robust against small changes of experimental parameters due to adiabatic passages. Furthermore, the scheme may be realized based on current technology.

Nonlocal quantum cloning via quantum dots trapped in distant cavities

Tao Yu, Ai‐Dong Zhu, Shou Zhang

A scheme for implementing nonlocal quantum cloning via quantum dots trapped in cavities is proposed. By modulating the parameters of the system, the optimal 1 → 2 universal quantum cloning machine, 1 → 2 phase-covariant cloning machine, and 1 → 3 economical phase-covariant cloning machine are constructed. The present scheme, which is attainable with current technology, saves two qubits compared with previous cloning machines.
