Output squeezing and entanglement generation from a single atom with respect to a low- Q cavity

Abstract

The dynamics behavior of output squeezing and entanglement is investigated, based on the off-resonant interaction of a four-level atom with a low-$Q$ cavity and two classical fields. By means of the input-output theory, we show that the two-mode squeezing and entanglement of the output fields can always exist. It is found that the maximum entanglement is insensitive to the cavity decay rate, but can be optimized by adjusting the ratio between the effective coupling constants.

Squeezing and Entanglement of the Output Field from the Closed-loop Atomic System

Jin Chen

The two-mode squeezing and entanglement of the output fields are generated by a three-level closed-loop atom interacting with two mode of the cavity. From the squeezing spectrum,we find that the width of squeezing(entanglement) spectrum is sensitive to the cavity decay rate. The depth of the the squeezing or entanglement spectrum is dependent on the microwave field. The results can be useful in realizing the controllable quantum communication.

Preparing entangled states of two atoms through the intensity-dependent interaction with the two-mode squeezed vacuum

Fuli Li, Peng Peng, Zhang‐qi Yin

Two four-level atoms resonantly interacting with a two-mode squeezed vacuum field through the intensity-dependent Jaynes–Cummings-like model are considered. It is shown that the atoms can evolve into pure entangled states at certain time. Moreover, the pure entangled states can probabilistically be projected onto extremely entangled states by quantum jump technique. It is shown that the success probability monotonously increases with increasing degree of squeezing without any decoherence processes. However, it is found that if decoherence processes such as atomic spontaneous emission and photon leakage out of the cavity take place, the total success probability first increases but then decreases with increasing degree of squeezing and finally approaches zero as the squeezing becomes stronger and stronger. Therefore, the high degree of squeezing in the initial state of the cavity field is not always helpful for a high probability of creating extremely entangled states when spontaneous emission and cavity decay exist. Given spontaneous emission and photon leakage rates, there is an optimal squeezing degree for which the total success probability becomes maximum.

Generation of entangled squeezed states: their entanglement and quantum polarization

Amir Karimi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

In this paper, based on the well-known one-mode and two-mode squeezed states, we introduce the two-mode and four-mode entangled squeezed states. Next, in order to generate the introduced entangled states, we present two theoretical schemes based on the resonant atom-field interaction. In the proposed schemes, a -type three-level atom interacts with the two-mode and four-mode quantized field in the presence of two strong classical fields in which two-photon atomic transitions are allowed. In the continuation, we study entanglement dynamics of the generated entangled states (using the von Neumann entropy) as well as the quantum polarization (using the Stokes operators). It is demonstrated that entanglement and polarization can be achieved for the produced states by adjusting the evolved parameters.

Continuous-variable entanglement in a two-mode four-level single-atom laser

Xin‐You Lü, Jibing Liu, Liu-Gang Si +1 more

This paper investigate the generation and evolution of continuous-variable entanglement in a two-mode single-atom laser, where the atomic coherence is induced by two classical laser fields (pump and coupling field) driving the corresponding atom transitions. It is found that the intensity of the coupling field can influence effectively the entanglement period of the cavity field. More importantly, our numerical results also show that the intensity and period of entanglement between the two cavity modes as well as the total mean photon number of the cavity field can be increased synchronously by adjusting the corresponding frequency detuning.

Enhanced entanglement and output squeezing of optomechanical system via a single four-level atom

Guixia Pan, Ruijie Xiao, Juan Gao

Abstract A scheme is addressed to generate the macroscopic entanglement and the output squeezing of optomechanical system with a single four-level atom. Applying the logarithmic negativity to measure entanglement, we analyze the effect of the coupling strength between the cavity and the atom on the entanglement of the cavity and the movable mirror. It is found that the robustness of the entanglement is enhanced with increasing of atom-cavity coupling, and the entanglement has a valley around when Δ is equal to ω m . Furthermore, we also analyze the output entanglement. The results show that the frequency of the mirror oscillation and the Rabi frequency of laser field affect the output squeezing spectrum.

Generation of continuous-variable entanglement in a three-level system

Y. H., E. Wu

A single three-level atom interacting with a two-mode cavity is studied. The generation of output entanglement and output squeezing is investigated. It shows that this system can serve as an output-entanglement source. By tuning the pump field or the detuning, strong entanglement can be generated.
