Quantum teleportation and dense coding by means of bright amplitude-squeezed light and direct measurement of a Bell state

Abstract

Simple schemes to realize quantum teleportation and dense coding for continuous variables are proposed, in that entangled EPR beams are produced by combining two bright amplitude squeezed beams. The measurement of the ``Bell state'' is accomplished by means of direct detection for photocurrents and two rf power splitters. As a local oscillator and balanced homodyne detector are not needed, the proposed system is easy to realize experimentally.

Quantum Switch for Continuous Variable Teleportation

Zhang, J, Xie, C, Peng, K

A novel quantum switch for continuous variables teleportation is proposed. Two pairs of EPR beams with identical frequency and constant phase relation are composed on two beamsplitters to produce two pairs of conditional entangled beams, two of which are sent to two sending stations(Alices) and others to two receiving stations(bobs). The EPR entanglement initionally results from two-mode quadrature squeezed state light. Converting the squeezed component of one of EPR sources between amplitude and phase, the input quantum state at a sender will be reproduced at two receivers in turn. The switching system manipulated by squeezed state light might be developed as a practical quantum switch device for the communication and teleportation of quantum information.

Controlled dense coding for continuous variables using three-particle entangled states

Jing Zhang, Changde Xie, Kunchi Peng

A simple scheme to realize quantum controlled dense coding with a bright tripartite entangled state light generated from nondegenerate optical parametric amplifiers is proposed in this paper. The quantum channel between Alice and Bob is controlled by Claire. As a local oscillator and balanced homodyne detector are not needed, the proposed protocol is easy to be realized experimentally.

Direct Bell state measurement for optical beams with correlated amplitude quadratures and anticorrelated phase quadratures

Dong Wang

A new method is produced of directly measuring EPR beams. This measurement scheme can be used for measuring the correlation degree of EPR beams with correlated amplitude quadratures and anticorrelated phase quadratures without using local oscillators. Then a new scheme for quantum dense coding is proposed based on this measurement scheme.

Quantum Dense Coding Exploiting a Bright Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Beam

Xiaoying Li, Qing Pan, Jietai Jing +3 more

Highly efficient quantum dense coding for continuous variables has been experimentally accomplished by means of exploiting a bright Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) beam with anticorrelation of amplitude quadratures and correlation of phase quadratures. Two bits of classical information are encoded on two quadratures of a half of a bright EPR beam, then are simultaneously decoded by the other half of the EPR beam with the sensitivities beyond that of the shot noise limit. A high degree of immunity to unauthorized eavesdropping has been experimentally demonstrated.

Quantum entanglement and squeezing of the quadrature difference of bright light fields

Jing Zhang, Changde Xie, Kunchi Peng

In this paper we present a scheme in which the amplitude-quadrature difference and phase-quadrature difference of two bright nonclassical beams serve as a pair of observed complementary variables that can be measured directly and can form a new squeezed state. Mixing such two quadrature-difference squeezed-state beams on a beam splitter produces characteristic of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen quantum entanglement. The experimental schemes producing such nonclassical beams and its possible applications in quantum information are discussed.

Quantum cryptography with bright entangled beams

Christine Silberhorn, Natalia Korolkova, Gerd Leuchs

Summary form only given. Recently, a scheme for the generation of bright entangled beams has been suggested. The EPR-like quantum correlations are produced by letting two amplitude-squeezed bright optical fields interfere on a 50:50 beamsplitter. The phase (PM) and amplitude (AM) uncertainty measurements exhibit strong correlations and anticorrelations which can be detected by recording the difference (sum) of the PM (AM) photocurrents. In this paper we present a simple version of the quantum key distribution protocol. We believe that the suggested scheme provides an efficient and novel approach to continuous variable quantum communication.
