UPPER BOUND ON THE TWO-POINT CORRELATION FUNCTION OF A SYSTEM OF COUPLED ANHARMONIC OSCILLATORS

Abstract

A quantum system of coupled anharmonic oscillators on v-dimensional hypercubic lattice is considered. The upper bound on the pair correlator is obtained. For the representation of creation-annihilation operators this system corresponds to a lattice boson gas model with δ-type repulsion. We prove the existence of Bose condensation at sufficiently low temperatures, and hence of a phase transition in three or more dimensions. An estimate of the critical temperature is obtained.

QUANTUM EFFECTS IN AN ANHARMONIC CRYSTAL

Kozitsky

A model of quantum particles performing D -dimensional anharmonic oscillations around their equilibrium positions which form the d -dimensional simple cubic lattice Zd is considered. The model undergoes a structural phase transition when the fluctuations of displacements of particles become macroscopic. This phenomenon is described by susceptibilities depending on Matsubara frequencies ωn , n ∈ Z . We prove two theorems concerning the thermodynamic limits of these susceptibilities. The first theorem states that the susceptibilities with nonzero ωn remain bounded at all temperatures, which means that the macroscopic fluctuations in the model are always non-quantum. The second theorem gives a sufficient condition for the static susceptibility (i.e. corresponding to ωn = 0 ) to be bounded at all temperatures. This condition involves the particle mass, the anharmonicity parameters and the interaction intensity. The physical meaning of this result is that, for all D and all values of the temperature, strong quantum effects suppress critical points and the long range order. The proof is performed in the approach where the susceptibilities are represented as functional integrals. A brief description of the main features of this approach is delivered.

Decay of correlations in N-vector ferromagnetic quantum models with long-range interactions

Alina Kargol

A lattice model of N -vector quantum anharmonic oscillators with long-range attraction is studied. This model is characterized by the critical temperature T C ( N ) ⩾ 0. By means of the Hammersley–Lieb–Simon inequality and a path integral representation of the two-point correlation function g N , we prove that, for T > T C (1) ⩾ T C ( N ), up to a constant this function is bounded from above by the interaction intensity. The decay of the two-point correlation function of the corresponding classical model is also discussed.

Rigorous Estimates for Correlation Functions and Existence of Phase Transitions in Some Models of Interacting Bosons

M. Corgini, Дмитрий Петрович Санкович

Using the so-called method of infrared bounds and a Roepstorff's inequality we obtain a lower bound for the amount of condensate and derive an upper bound for the anomalous average [Formula: see text] of Huang–Davies (HD) model. A lower bound for the static structure factor is also obtained. We generalize the HD model and prove the existence of Bose condensation for this kind of model systems. Finally we derived upper and lower bounds for correlation functions associated to a system of Fermi-particles interacting with a field of phonons.

Upper Bounds on Bogolubov’s Inner Product: Quantum Systems of Anharmonic Oscillators

M. Corgini

An upper bound on the so-called Bogolubov Inner Product for creation and annihilation bose operators is obtained in the case of certain quantum systems of anharmonic oscillators as a straightforward application of domination of semigroups. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.

Proof of Bose condensation for weakly interacting lattice bosons

Дмитрий Петрович Санкович

A weakly interacting Bose gas on a simple cubic lattice is considered. We prove the existence of the standard or zero-mode Bose condensation at sufficiently low temperature. This result is valid for sufficiently small interaction potential and small values of chemical potential. Our method exploits infrared bound for the suitable two-point Bogolyubov's inner product. We do not use the reflection positivity or some expansion methods.
