Multi-atom entanglement engineering and phase-covariant cloning via adiabatic passage

Abstract

A scheme is proposed for the generation of entangled states for multiple atoms trapped in an optical cavity via adiabatic passage. In the scheme, both the atomic system and the cavity have no probability of being excited. Thus both the atomic spontaneous emission and the cavity decay are suppressed, which makes our scheme very robust against decoherence. Taking advantage of the adiabatic process, the scheme does not require accurate adjustment of the interaction time. Furthermore, the scheme is scalable in principle. The idea can also be used for realizing phase-covariant cloning.

Entangled W State Generation via Adiabatic Passage in Cavity QED

Ma Song-She

A scheme is proposed to generate W state of N atoms trapped in a cavity, based on adiabatic passage along dark state. Taking advantage of adiabatic passage, the atoms have no probability of being excited and thus the atomic spontaneous emission is suppressed. The scheme is simple. It does not need to adjust the interaction time accurately, and does not need to prepare the cavity field in one-photon state. Numerical simulation shows that the successful probability of the scheme increases with the increasing of the atom number.

Robust generation of qutrit entanglement via adiabatic passage of dark states

Zhen‐Biao Yang, Huai‐Zhi Wu, Zheng Shi-Biao

We propose a scheme for the deterministic generation of qutrit entanglement for two atoms trapped in an optical cavity. Taking advantage of the adiabatic passage, the operation is immune to atomic spontaneous emission as the atomic excited states are never populated; under certain conditions, the probability that the cavity is excited is negligible. We also study the influences of the dissipation due to the atomic spontaneous emission and cavity decay.

Generation and concentration of atomic entangled state via adiabatic evolution

Sai-Yun Ye

Based on the idea of adiabatic evolution, we propose two probabilistic but simple schemes for generating maximally entangled states for two distant atoms and concentrating unknown atomic entangled states. Taking advantage of adiabatic passage, the atoms have no probability of being excited and thus the atomic spontaneous emission is suppressed. Furthermore, in the two schemes accurate adjustment of the interaction time is not required.

Generation of entanglement via adiabatic passage

We propose several robust schemes to prepare entangled states among spatially separated $\ensuremath{\Lambda}$-type atoms via stimulated Raman adiabatic passage and fractional stimulated Raman adiabatic passage techniques. The atomic spontaneous radiation, the cavity decay, and the fiber loss are efficiently suppressed by engineering adiabatic passage and controlling appropriately atom-field couplings. The schemes can be extended to generate the $n$-cavity mode $W$ state.

Entanglement and Phase-Covariant Cloning for Multiple Trapped Ions via Adiabatic Passage

LU Dao-ming, Zheng Shi-Biao

We describe a scheme for the generation of W states and implementation of phase-covariant cloning for n trapped ions. The scheme does not use the vibational mode as the memory and works beyond the Lamb-Dicke regime. The procedure is robust against moderate fluctuations of experimental parameters by using adiabatic passage.

Phase-covariant cloning via adiabatic passage in fiber-nanocavity system

Wan-Jun Su, Zhen‐Biao Yang

We propose an effective scheme for realizing a long-range quantum state phase-covariant cloning between two qubits in fiber-nanocavity system via an adiabatic passage. Since no cavity (fiber) photons or excited levels of the nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center are populated during the whole process, the scheme is immune to the decay of cavity (fiber) and spontaneous emission of the NV center. The strictly numerical simulation shows that the fidelity is high even in the presence of realistic imperfections.
