Abstract

We propose a scheme to implement quantum state transfer in a hybrid circuit quantum electrodynamics (QED) system which consists of a superconducting charge qubit, a flux qubit, and a transmission line resonator (TLR). It is shown that quantum state transfer between the charge qubit and the flux qubit can be realized by using the TLR as the data bus.

Coupling charge qubits via Raman transitions in circuit QED

Zhi‐Bo Feng

We propose a theoretical scheme to couple superconducting charge qubits (SCQs) via Raman transitions in a circuit QED architecture. Qubit array interacts a quantum data bus generated by a one-dimensional superconducting transmission line resonator (TLR). Based on the Raman transitions, the controllable and selective interqubit couplings mediated by the data bus can be obtained by just addressing the applied gate pulses, which provides the possibility for scaling up to many SCQs.

One-way quantum computation with circuit quantum electrodynamics

Chun-Wang Wu, Han Yang, Xiao-Jun Zhong +2 more

In this Brief Report, we propose a potential scheme to implement one-way quantum computation with circuit quantum electrodynamics (QED). Large cluster states of charge qubits can be generated in just one step with a superconducting transmission line resonator (TLR) playing the role of a dispersive coupler. A single-qubit measurement in the arbitrary basis can be implemented using a single electron transistor with the help of one-qubit gates. By examining the main decoherence sources, we show that circuit QED is a promising architecture for one-way quantum computation.

Quantum Information Transfer in Circuit QED with Landau—Zener Tunneling

Jun-Wang Li, Chun-Wang Wu, Hong‐Yi Dai

We propose a scheme to implement quantum information transfer between Cooper-pair boxes (CPBs) in a circuit quantum electrodynamic (QED) system with Landau—Zener tunneling. The system consists of two CPB qubits and a one-dimensional transmission line resonator (TLR). By analytically solving the eigenequation and numerically calculating the transition probability, the results show the quantum state transfer from one qubit to another via a fast adiabatic passage. The coupling mechanism is robust against decoherence effects.

Decoherence-free quantum dynamics in circuit QED system

Ping Liao, Qin-Qin Wu, Jie‐Qiao Liao +1 more

We study decoherence in a circuit QED system consisting of a charge qubit and two superconducting transmission line resonators (TLRs). We show that in the dispersive regime of the circuit QED system one TLR can be used as an auxiliary subsystem to realize decoherence-free quantum dynamics of the bipartite target system consisting of the charge qubit and the other TLR conditioned on the auxiliary TLR initially being a proper number state. Our study gives new insight into control and manipulation of decoherence in quantum systems.

Hybrid quantum circuit consisting of a superconducting flux qubit coupled to a spin ensemble and a transmission-line resonator

Ze-Liang Xiang, Xin-You Lü, Tiefu Li +2 more

We propose an experimentally realizable hybrid quantum circuit for achieving a strong coupling between a spin ensemble and a transmission-line resonator via a superconducting flux qubit used as a data bus. The resulting coupling can be used to transfer quantum information between the spin ensemble and the resonator. In particular, in contrast to the direct coupling without a data bus, our approach requires far less spins to achieve a strong coupling between the spin ensemble and the resonator (e.g., three to four orders of magnitude less). This proposed hybrid quantum circuit could enable a long-time quantum memory when storing information in the spin ensemble, and allows the possibility to explore nonlinear effects in the ultrastrong-coupling regime.
