Fidelity of Quantum Teleportation for Single-Mode Squeezed State Light

Abstract

The fidelity of quantum teleportation of a single-mode squeezed state of light is calculated based on the general theory of quantum-mechanical measurement in the Schrödinger picture. It is shown that the criterion for the nonclassical state teleportation is different from that for coherent state. F = 1/2 is no longer the rigorous boundary between classical and quantum teleportation for a squeezed state of light. When the quantum entanglement of an Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) beam used for teleportation and the parameters of the system are given, the fidelity depends on the squeezing of the input squeezed state. The higher the squeezing is, the smaller the fidelity is, and the lower the classical limitation of fidelity is. The dependence of the optimum gain for teleporting a squeezed vacuum state upon the EPR entanglement is also calculated. The results obtained provide important references for designing experimental systems of teleporting a non-classical state and judging the quality of the teleported quantum state.

Quantum teleportation of one- and two-photon superposition states

Quantum teleportation of one- and two-photon superposition states based on EPR entanglement of continuous-wave two-mode squeezed state is discussed. The fidelities of teleportation are deduced for two different input quantum states. The dependence of the fidelity on the parameters of EPR entanglement and the gain of the classical channels are shown numerically. Comparing with the teleportation of Fock state and coherent state, it is pointed out that for given EPR entanglement and classical gain, the higher the nonclassicality of the input state, the lower the accessible fidelity of teleportation.

Quantum teleportation of single-mode thermal state of light field

Junxiang Zhang, Changde Xie, Kunchi Peng

The quantum teleportation of a single-mode thermal state of a light field is discussed using the projection synthesis technique in the Schrodinger picture. The statistical distance (SD) between the teleported input and output states is introduced to evaluate the efficiency of single-mode thermal state teleportation. For a given system and available entanglement, both the SD and classical boundary depend on the mean photon numbers of the teleported thermal light field. The dependences of the SD on the normalized classical gain, EPR (Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen) entanglement and mean photon numbers of the thermal field are calculated.

Experimental demonstration of quantum teleportation of a squeezed state

Nobuyuki Takei, Takao Aoki, Satoshi Koike +8 more

Quantum teleportation of a squeezed state is demonstrated experimentally. Due to some inevitable losses in experiments, a squeezed vacuum necessarily becomes a mixed state which is no longer a minimum uncertainty state. We establish an operational method of evaluation for quantum teleportation of such a state using fidelity and discuss the classical limit for the state. The measured fidelity for the input state is $0.85\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.05$, which is higher than the classical case of $0.73\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.04$. We also verify that the teleportation process operates properly for the nonclassical state input and its squeezed variance is certainly transferred through the process. We observe the smaller variance of the teleported squeezed state than that for the vacuum state input.

Quantum teleportation of a squeezed state is demonstrated experimentally. We observe the less variance of the teleported squeezed state than that for the vacuum state input. We verify that the teleportation process operates properly for the nonclassical state input. Using fidelity, we evaluate our results. The fidelity for the squeezed state input is 0.85 which is higher than the classical case of 0.73. This work is an important step toward entanglement swapping.

Teleportation improvement by conditional measurements on the two-mode squeezed vacuum

P. T. Cochrane, Timothy C. Ralph, Gerard J Milburn

We show that by making conditional measurements on the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) squeezed vacuum [T. Opatrn\'y, G. Kurizki, and D.-G. Welsch, Phys. Rev. A 61, 032302 (2000)], one can improve the efficacy of teleportation for both the position-difference, momentum-sum, and number-difference, phase-sum continuous variable teleportation protocols. We investigate the relative abilities of the standard and conditional EPR states, and show that by conditioning we can improve the fidelity of teleportation of coherent states from below to above the $\overline{F}=2/3$ boundary, thereby achieving unambiguously quantum teleportation.
