The entanglement of two dipole-dipole coupled atoms induced by nondegenerate two-mode thermal noise

Eugene K. Bashkirov, Мария Петровна Ступацкая

We investigate the entanglement properties of a system of two dipole-dipole coupled two-level atoms resonantly interacting with a two-mode thermal field in a high- Q cavity. We obtain the evolution operator for this system in an analytical form, and use it to evaluate the atom-atom entanglement through the calculation of the negativity. The results show that the atom-atom entanglement is dependent on cavity field intensity and dipole interaction strength. We find that the dipole interaction can produce a considerable amount of entanglement between the two atoms.

Transfer of spin squeezing and particle entanglement between atoms and photons in coupled cavities via two-photon exchange

Ali Ü. C. Hardal, Özgür Esat Müstecaplıoğlu

We examine transfer of particle entanglement and spin squeezing between atomic and photonic subsystems in optical cavities coupled by two-photon exchange. Each cavity contains a single atom, interacting with cavity photons with a two-photon cascade transition. Particle entanglement is characterized by evaluating optimal spin squeezing inequalities for the cases of initially separable and entangled two-photon states. It is found that particle entanglement is first generated among the photons in separate cavities and then transferred to the atoms. The underlying mechanism is recognized as an intercavity two-axis twisting spin squeezing interaction, induced by two-photon exchange, and its optimal combination with the intracavity atom–photon coupling. Relative effect of nonlocal two-photon exchange and local atom–photon interactions of cavity photons on the spin squeezing and entanglement transfer is pointed out.

Cavity-induced mirror-mirror entanglement in a single-atom Raman laser

Berihu Teklu, Tim Byrnes, Faisal Shah Khan

We address an experimental scheme to analyze the optical bistability and the entanglement of two movable mirrors coupled to a two-mode laser inside a doubly resonant cavity. With this aim we investigate the master equations of the atom-cavity subsystem in conjunction with the quantum Langevin equations that describe the interaction of the mirror cavity. The parametric amplification-type coupling induced by the two-photon coherence on the optical bistability of the intracavity mean photon numbers is found and investigated. Under this condition, the optical intensities exhibit bistability for all large values of cavity laser detuning. We also provide numerical evidence for the generation of strong entanglement between the movable mirrors and show that it is robust against environmental thermalization.
