Abstract

The low-lying energy spectrum of a spinning quantum chain in the critical region is calculated by using Lanczos method. According to conformal theory, the anomalous dimensions ? and the normalising factor ? are obtained from the energy spectrum. Also a simple derivation of the field theory of the model is given.

The Numerical Study of the S = 1/2 XXZ Chain

Fei Ye, Guo-Hui Ding, Xu Bo-wei

We adopt the Lanczos method combined with the quantum conformal field theory to investigate the S = 1/2 XXZ chain in detail. The bulk-limit ground state energy, the anomalous scaling dimension of the spin operators, the Fermi velocity and the zero-temperature susceptibility are numerically calculated. The results agree to the exact solution well.

ZHANG HAI-YAN, Xu Bo-wei, 上海交通大学应用物理系

The energies of the ground state and the lowest-excited states of the one-dime-nsional NNN interaction quantum chain are calculated by using Lanczos method. The a no=nalous dimensions and normalizing constant are given from conformal field theory.

Tetracritical behaviour in a spin-3/2 quantum chain

André Luiz Malvezzi

Finite-Size-Scaling and Conformal Invariance are used in order to find the phase diagram and critical exponents of a quantum spin chain with spin $S=3/2$. The model has a tetracritical point besides critical lines. The conformal anomaly and anomalous dimensions of some primary operators are calculated at the tetracritical point.

The Boundary Conformal Field Theories of the 2D Ising critical points

Smain Balaska, Sihem Bounoua

We present a new method to identify the Boundary Conformal Field Theories (BCFTs) describing the critical points of the Ising model on the strip. It consists in measuring the low-lying excitation energies spectra of its quantum spin chain for different boundary conditions and then to compare them with those of the different boundary conformal field theories of the ( A 2 , A 3 ) minimal model.
