Two-mode light in optomechanical cavity with squeezed vacuum reservoir

Edris Salih, Misrak Getahun

We consider a two-mode light generated by nondegenerate three-level laser with parametric oscillator in optomechanical cavity coupled to two-mode squeezed vacuum reservoir. Effects of pump mode, optomechanical coupling strength and squeezed vacuum reservoir on squeezing and entanglement properties of the cavity modes have been analyzed using the expectation values of cavity mode variables at steady state. The results show that the two-mode light produced by the system under consideration exhibits quadrature squeezing and entanglement. The presence of parametric oscillator in the cavity and squeezed vacuum reservoir enhance the degree of squeezing, entanglement and mean photon number of the cavity mode lights. The optomechanical cavity has no effect on the mean photon number and entanglement of the cavity mode but increases the degree of quadrature squeezing.

Light-to-matter entanglement transfer in optomechanics

Eyob Alebachew Sete, Hichem Eleuch, C. H. Raymond Ooi

We analyze a scheme to entangle the movable mirrors of two spatially separated nanoresonators via a broadband squeezed light. We show that it is possible to transfer the Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen-type continuous-variable entanglement from the squeezed light to the mechanical motion of the movable mirrors. An optimal entanglement transfer is achieved when the nanoresonators are tuned at resonance with the vibrational frequencies of the movable mirrors and when strong optomechanical coupling is attained. Stationary entanglement of the states of the movable mirrors as strong as that of the input squeezed light can be obtained for sufficiently large optomechanical cooperativity, achievable in currently available optomechanical systems. The scheme can be used to implement long-distance quantum-state transfer provided that the squeezed light interacts with the nanoresonators.

Dissipation-driven nonclassical-state generation in optomechanics with squeezed light

Jae Hoon Lee, Junho Suh, Hyojun Seok

We study an optomechanical system for the purpose of generating a nonclassical mechanical state when a mechanical oscillator is quadratically coupled to a single-mode cavity field driven by a squeezed optical field. The system corresponds to a regime where the optical dissipation dominates both the mechanical damping and the optomechanical coupling. We identify that multiphonon processes emerge in the optomechanical system and show that a mechanical oscillator prepared in the ground state will evolve into an amplitude-squared squeezed vacuum state. The Wigner distribution of the steady state of the mechanical oscillator is non-Gaussian exhibiting quantum interference and fourfold symmetry. This nonclassical mechanical state, generated via reservoir engineering, can be used for quantum correlation measurements of the position and momentum of the mechanics below the standard quantum limit.
