Abstract

We propose a decoy state quantum key distribution scheme with odd coherent state which follows sub-Poissonian distributed photon count and has low probability of the multi-photon event and vacuum event in each pulse. The numerical calculations show that our scheme can improve efficiently the key generation rate and secure communication distance. Furthermore, only one decoy state is necessary to approach to the perfect asymptotic limit with infinite decoy states in our scheme, but at least two decoy states are needed in other scheme.

New decoy state quantum key distribution for increasing the security communication distance

Zhao Nan

To increase the security distance of quantum communication,a new scheme of decoy state quantum key distribution with a modified coherent state is proposed. The probability of multi-photon pulse in weak coherent source can be decreased by canceling two photon pulses to improve the security distance.Based on the math model of the decoy state QKD,the formula for the yield and error rate of the single photon pulse with the Modified Coherent State is deduced, and substituted in GLLP to calculate the generation rate of quantum keys. Results show that the decoy state with the Modified Coherent State can increase the secure communication distance about 10%,which is very close to that of the perfect decoy state QKD.

Measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution with odd coherent state

Dong Chen, Zhao Shang-hong, Ning Zhang +3 more

Measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution (MDI-QKD) is immune to all the detection attacks, thus when it is combined with the decoy state method, the final key is unconditionally safe. In this paper, we propose to perform MDI-QKD with odd coherent state (OCS) and compare the results with weak coherent source scenario. Our simulation indicates that both the secure key rate and transmission distance can be improved evidently with OCS owing to the lower probability of multi-photon events of the OCS. Furthermore, we apply the finite key analysis to the decoy state MDI-QKD with OCS and obtain a practical key rate.

An improved scheme on decoy-state method for measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution

Dong Wang, Mo Li, Guang‐Can Guo +1 more

Quantum key distribution involving decoy-states is a significant application of quantum information. By using three-intensity decoy-states of single-photon-added coherent sources, we propose a practically realizable scheme on quantum key distribution which approaches very closely the ideal asymptotic case of an infinite number of decoy-states. We make a comparative study between this scheme and two other existing ones, i.e., two-intensity decoy-states with single-photon-added coherent sources, and three-intensity decoy-states with weak coherent sources. Through numerical analysis, we demonstrate the advantages of our scheme in secure transmission distance and the final key generation rate.

Decoy state quantum-key-distribution by using odd coherent states without monitoring signal disturbance

Shujing Li, Hui Liu, Linguo Li

Recently, a novel quantum-key-distribution (QKD) protocol, called Round-robin-differential-phase-shift (RRDPS) QKD, has been proposed to share a secure key without monitoring the signal disturbance. In this paper, we propose a decoy state RRDPS-QKD protocol with odd coherent states (OCS). We implement a one-intensity decoy state method into the RRDPS-QKD with OCS to estimate the key rate. The results show that both the maximum transmission distance and the key rate of our protocol are significantly improved. Moreover, only one-intensity decoy state is sufficient for the protocol to approach the asymptotic limit with infinite decoy states.

Approaching the ideal quantum key distribution with two-intensity decoy states

Chunhui Zhang, Sun-Long Luo, Guang‐Can Guo +1 more

We present a scheme for the practical decoy-state quantum key distribution with heralded single-photon source. In this scheme, only two-intensity decoy states are employed. However, its performance can approach the asymptotic case of using infinite decoy states. We compare it with the standard three-intensity decoy-state method, and through numerical simulations, we demonstrate its significant improvement over the three-intensity method in both the final key rate and the secure transmission distance. Furthermore, when taking statistical fluctuations into account, a very high key generation rate can still be obtained even at a long transmission distance.

Measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution with odd coherent state
