Angular momentum projection integrals for coherent states

Abstract

Angular momentum projection integrals arising from the coherent state representation of bosonic spectrum generating algebras are evaluated using analytical and algebraic methods. For the vibron model of diatomic molecules, a closed expression is derived by direct integration. For the general case, the integral is evaluated as a 1/N expansion by exploiting the symmetries of the underlying boson system and making use of computer algebra.

Feynman Transformation Matrix Element for a type of Hamiltonian of Angular Momentum system

Hong-Yi Fan

Using the technique of integration within ordered product (IWOP) of operators and the Schwinger boson representation for the angular momentum theory as well as the coherent state's method, we evaluate the Feynman transformation matrix element for the angular momentum system whose Hamiltonian is (A, B, C real). The eigenstate of H is derived and the comparison between it and the coherent state is made.

New Approach to the Study of Atomic Coherent State

Fan Hong‐Yi

On the basis of the technique of performing integration within ordered product proposed in our previous paper [1] and Schwinger boson representation for angular momentum, we derive new normal product forms for coset element of group and their product as well as some new operator identities which are useful in studying atomic coherent state. This new formulation provides the possibility of making use of the Glauber coherent state to find new properties of atomic system.

In Schwinger boson representation of angular momentum theory we derive new normal product expansion of rotation operators which can generate new operator identities in the Hilbert space to which SU 2 group maps, some properties and applications of them are presented.

Integral equations for the four-body problem

Christophe Mora, Yvan Castin, Ludovic Pricoupenko

We consider the four-boson and 3 + 1 fermionic problems with a model Hamiltonian which encapsulates the mechanism of the Feshbach resonance involving the coherent coupling of two atoms in the open channel and a molecule in the closed channel. The model includes also the pair-wise direct interaction between atoms in the open channel and in the bosonic case, the direct molecule–molecule interaction in the closed channel. Interactions are modeled by separable potentials which makes it possible to reduce the four-body problem to the study of a single integral equation. We take advantage of the rotational symmetry and parity invariance of the Hamiltonian to reduce the general eigenvalue equation in each angular momentum sector to an integral equation for functions of three real variables only. A first application of this formalism in the zero-range limit is given elsewhere [Y. Castin, C. Mora, L. Pricoupenko, Phys. Rev. Lett. 105 (2010) 223201].

Intermediate-statistics quantum bracket, coherent state, oscillator, and representation of angular momentum [su(2)] algebra

Yao Shen, Wu-Sheng Dai, Mi Xie

In this paper, we first discuss the general properties of an intermediate-statistics quantum bracket, ${[u,v]}_{n}=uv\ensuremath{-}{e}^{i2\ensuremath{\pi}∕(n+1)}vu$, which corresponds to intermediate statistics in which the maximum occupation number of one quantum state is an arbitrary integer, $n$. A further study of the operator realization of intermediate statistics is given. We construct the intermediate-statistics coherent state. An intermediate-statistics oscillator is constructed, which returns to bosonic and fermionic oscillators respectively when $n\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\infty}$ and $n=1$. The energy spectrum of such an intermediate-statistics oscillator is calculated. Finally, we discuss the intermediate-statistics representation of angular momentum [su(2)] algebra. Moreover, a further study of the operator realization of intermediate statistics is given in the Appendix.

Contracting Lie algebras and generalized coherent states

L. Saliu

By adopting the framework elaborated by A.M. Perelomov [1] we define and determine the generalized coherent state contraction associated with the contraction of the angular momentum algebra to that of the harmonic oscillator. It is shown that the contraction as well as the expansion solutions for these Lie algebras [2] [3] straight forwardly emerge by using their coherent state representations.
