Two-photon spectroscopy of a resonant three-level spin system. II. Resonance shift

R. Boscaino, A Tripo

For pt.I see ibid., vol.11, p.365 (1978). A resonance shift, orders of magnitude larger than the Bloch-Siegert shift, has been measured in the second-harmonic microwave emission spectrum of a dilute ruby sample (Cr 3+ :Al 2 O 3 ) near a three-level resonance. The observed shift is ascribed to the interference between the direct and the resonant second-harmonic generating processes.

Emission spectrum of a harmonically trapped two-level atom

Hong Mei Guo, Zhao Li-Yan

We investigated theoretically the emission spectrum for a harmonically trapped two-level atom; our study is not limited in Lamb-Dicke approximation. We have shown that the effects of the atomic motion on the emission spectrum are dependent on the initial state of the system, the Lamb-Dicke parameter $\ensuremath{\eta}$, and the detuning parameter.

Dynamic Zeeman effect at microwave frequencies

I. S. Ciccarello, M. Guccione, M. Li Vigni

The fluorescence emission by a two-level spin system strongly saturated by a resonant field is investigated at microwave frequencies. The measurements are performed on samples of Al2O3+0.065% of Cr2O3 near the second harmonic (SH) frequency of the driving field. The on-resonance SH spectrum shows the three-peaked structure where the relative distance of the sideband components increases on increasing the field intensity.
