Abstract

This talk will review our recent activities on dual-pump phase sensitive amplifiers with enhanced phase sensitivity. We have clarified the mechanism by scrutinizing the trajectories of the output signal vector with increasing nonlinear phase shift.

We have clarified a mechanism that sidebands entailed by phase sensitive amplification significantly increase gain extinction ratio, by scrutinizing the trajectories of the output signal vector in the complex plane with increasing nonlinear phase shift.

Sideband-Assisted Phase Sensitive Amplifiers with High Phase Sensitivity for Efficient Phase Regeneration

Mingyi Gao, Takashi Inoue, Takayuki Kurosu +1 more

We show that sidebands entailed by phase sensitive amplification significantly increase the parametric de-amplification. The resultant gain extinction ratio was 30 dB with less than 22-dBm pump power, which enables an efficient phase regenerator.

Efficient binary phase quantizer based on phase sensitive four wave mixing

Francesca R. Parmigiani, Radan Slavı́k, Graham Hesketh +3 more

We experimentally demonstrate an efficient binary phase quantizer operating at low pump powers. Phase-sensitive operation is obtained by polarization mixing the phase-locked signal/idler pair in a degenerate dual-pump vector parametric amplifier.

Impact of Phase-Sensitive-Amplifier’s Mode Structure on Amplified Image Quality

Muthiah Annamalai, Michael Vasilyev, Prem Kumar

We study phase-sensitive image pre-amplification versus pumping conditions and number of signal modes. We see image improvement by pre-amplification, and high-spatial-frequency enhancement for “higher-order-pump,” “nonzero-wavevector-mismatch” cases.
