ON THE EFFECT OF TEMPORAL STABILITY OF COHERENT STATES ON THE STABILITY OF NONCLASSICALITY FEATURES

Abstract

Upon the importance of the preservation of nonclassical properties, in this paper we investigate the effect of temporal stability on the stability of nonclassicality features of two classes of generalized coherent states that are temporal stable and nontemporal stable. We use the Gazeau–Klauder coherent states as the temporal stable states and nonlinear coherent states as the nontemporal stable states. Among the nonclassical criteria, we pay attention to first and second-order squeezing, Mandel parameter, second-order correlation function, Wigner and Hussimi functions. In addition, the auto-correlation function of states are obtained and the quantum feature of the observed revival and collapse phenomena of the two considered classes of states are compared.

Coherent States of Nonlinear Oscillators with Position-Dependent Mass: Temporal Stability and Fractional Revivals

Naila Amir, Shahid Iqbal

Abstract We develop generalized coherent states for a class of nonlinear oscillators with position-dependent effective mass in the context of the Gazeau–Klauder formalism and discuss some of their properties. In order to investigate the temporal evolution we first explore the statistical properties by means of weighting distribution and the Mandel parameter. It is found that the temporal evolution of the coherent states may exhibit the phenomena of quantum revivals and fractional revivals for a particular choice of position-dependent mass oscillator.

Nonlinear semi-coherent states, their nonclassical features and phase properties

E Piroozi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

Semi-coherent states (semi-CSs) were previously introduced and their nonclassical properties studied. In this paper, we first propose a general formalism for the construction of ‘nonlinear semi-CSs’ as an extension of semi-CSs and then their explicit form in the number state basis is generally deduced. Next, as some physical appearances of the formalism, after choosing two well-known nonlinearity functions, nonclassical features and quantum statistical properties of the associated states are studied by evaluating quadrature squeezing, higher order squeezing and the Mandel parameter, as well as their phase properties and number and phase squeezing of the introduced states. Finally, the results are compared with the properties of semi-CSs.

Properties of new even and odd nonlinear coherent states with different parameters

Cheng Zhang, Rui-Jiao Miao, Xiao-Qiu Qi

We construct a class of nonlinear coherent states (NLCSs) by introducing a more general nonlinear function and study their nonclassical properties, specifically the second-order correlation function [Formula: see text], Mandel parameter Q, squeezing, amplitude-squared squeezing and Wigner function of the optical field. The results indicate that the nonclassical properties of the new types of even and odd NLCSs crucially depend on the nonlinear functions. More concretely, we find that the new even NLCSs could exhibit the photon-bunching effect, whereas the new odd NLCSs could show the photon-antibunching effect. The degree of squeezing is also significantly affected by the parameter selection of these NLCSs. By employing various forms of nonlinear functions, it becomes possible to construct the NLCSs with diverse properties, thereby providing a theoretical foundation for the corresponding experimental investigations.

Nonclassicality criteria: Quasiprobability distributions and correlation functions

Moorad Alexanian

We use the exact calculation of the quantum mechanical, temporal characteristic function $\ensuremath{\chi}(\ensuremath{\eta})$ and the degree of second-order coherence ${g}^{(2)}(\ensuremath{\tau})$ for a single-mode, degenerate parametric amplifier for a system in the Gaussian state, viz., a displaced-squeezed thermal state, to study the different criteria for nonclassicality. In particular, we contrast criteria that involve only one-time functions of the dynamical system, for instance, the quasiprobability distribution $P(\ensuremath{\beta})$ of the Glauber-Sudarshan coherent or P representation of the density of state and the Mandel ${Q}_{M}(\ensuremath{\tau})$ parameter, versus the criteria associated with the two-time correlation function ${g}^{(2)}(\ensuremath{\tau})$.

Construction of the dual family of Gazeau–Klauder coherent states via temporally stable nonlinear coherent states

R. Roknizadeh, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

Using the analytic representation of the so-called Gazeau–Klauder coherent states (CSs), we shall demonstrate that how a new class of generalized CSs, namely the family of dual states associated with theses states, can be constructed through viewing these states as temporally stable nonlinear CSs. Also we find that the ladder operators, as well as the displacement type operator corresponding to these two pairs of generalized CSs, may be easily obtained using our formalism, without employing the supersymmetric quantum mechanics (SUSYQM) techniques. Then, we have applied this method to some physical systems with known spectrum, such as Pöschl–Teller, infinite well, Morse potential and hydrogenlike spectrum as some quantum mechanical systems. Finally, we propose the generalized form of the Gazeau–Klauder CS and the corresponding dual family.

Nonclassical properties of coherent states and excited coherent states for continuous spectra

G R Honarasa, M K Tavassoly, M Hatami +1 more

Based on the definition of coherent states for continuous spectra and analogous to photon added coherent states for discrete spectra, we introduce the excited coherent states for continuous spectra. It is shown that, the main axioms of Gazeau-Klauder coherent states will be satisfied, properly. Nonclassical properties and quantum statistics of coherent states, as well as the introduced excited coherent states are discussed. In particular, through the study of quadrature squeezing and amplitude squared squeezing, it will be observed that both classes of the above states can be classified in the intelligent states category.
