Abstract

Within the framework of thermo field dynamics, we derive the partition functions for a harmonic oscillator obeying parafermi and parabose statistics. The thermodynamic functions are studied for different limits of the order of the statistics and are shown to have the expected behaviour.

DISTRIBUTION OF PARASTATISTICS FUNCTIONS: AN OVERVIEW OF THERMODYNAMICS PROPERTIES

R. Yosi Aprian Sari, Wipsar Sunu Brams Dwandaru

This study aims to determine the thermodynamic properties of the parastatistics system of order two. The thermodynamic properties to be searched include the Grand Canonical Partition Function (GCPF) Z, and the average number of particles N. These parastatistics systems is in a more general form compared to quantum statistical distribution that has been known previously, i.e.: the Fermi-Dirac (FD) and Bose-Einstein (BE). Starting from the recursion relation of grand canonical partition function for parastatistics system of order two that has been known, recuresion linkages for some simple thermodynamic functions for parastatistics system of order two are derived. The recursion linkages are then used to calculate the thermodynamic functions of the model system of identical particles with limited energy levels which is similar to the harmonic oscillator. From these results we concluded that from the Grand Canonical Partition Function (GCPF), Z, the thermodynamics properties of parastatistics system of order two (paraboson and parafermion) can be derived and have similar shape with parastatistics system of order one (Boson and Fermion). The similarity of the graph shows similar thermodynamic properties. Keywords: parastatistics, thermodynamic properties

QUANTUM OSCILLATORS: APPLICATIONS IN STATISTICAL MECHANICS

Predrag Neskovic, B. V. UROŠEVIĆ

We consider a canonical ensemble of q oscillators. Using classical realization for q oscillator algebra,17 we calculate, for a small real q, the partition function and thermodynamic potentials F, E and S. We show that F reaches the minimum and E and S the maximum (as functions of the deformation parameter q) when q = 1 (for the classical oscillator). We argue about possible far-reaching consequences of this fact. As an application we obtain a first quantum correction to Planck's black body radiation law. We introduce the slightly deformed oscillator (SDO) model, which provides us with a significant amount of information about the system. When q = 1, our results are shown to coincide with classical results.

STOCHASTIC FIELD THEORY AND RENORMALIZATION GROUP APPROACH TO CRITICAL BEHAVIORS IN THERMO FIELD DYNAMICS

B. BHATTACHARYA

We have studied here the critical behaviors in a simple model from the point of view of the renormalization group at finite temperature utilizing the Stochastic field theoretic approach towards a finite temperature field theory. To this end, thermofield dynamics has been formulated in terms of Stochastic fields in the external and internal space and the thermal average of the two-point correlation function of the internal field functions is related with the order parameter. The thermodynamical functions and the critical phenomena are then studied constructing the generating functionals involving Stochastic fields.
