Phonon blockade via atomic coherence in a hybrid optomechanical system

Jian-Jun Han, Shiyan Li, Nan Wang +2 more

A hybrid optomechanical system incorporating a two-level atom is utilized to realize phonon blockade, with the large-detuned optical mode decoupled from the system via adiabatic approximation. This process establishes an exchange interaction between the two-level atom and the mechanical mode. The findings indicate that both conventional and unconventional phonon blockade mechanisms coexist within the system. By tuning the driving frequency of the two-level atom, the system can be dynamically switched between these two mechanisms. The phonon blockade effect exhibits remarkable robustness against optical dissipation due to the adiabatic elimination of the cavity mode, enabling its realization even in low-Q cavities. In this study, the two-level atom serves not only as a critical component for achieving phonon blockade but also as an additional tool for manipulating the blockade mechanism. Our results provide a promising framework for hybrid optomechanical systems aiming to achieve switchable and robust single-phonon sources.

Macroscopic entanglement between ferrimagnetic magnons and atoms via crossed optical cavities

Ke Di, Xi Wang, Huarong Xia +4 more

We consider a two-dimensional opto-magnomechanical (OMM) system including two optical cavity modes, a magnon mode, a phonon mode, and a collection of two-level atoms. We show how the stationary entanglement between two-level atoms and magnons can be achieved. The presence of two optical cavities leads the atom-magnon entanglement to be achieved in a wide parameter regime. Furthermore, it is shown that one optical cavity can get entangled with magnons, phonons, and the other optical cavity. The entanglement is robust against thermal noise. The work may find applications in building hybrid quantum networks and quantum information processing.

QUANTUM ENTANGLEMENT OF TWO ATOMS INDUCED BY A FOCK STATE

Cai Jin-Fang

In the consideration of Milburn model of intrinsic decoherence,we investigate the entanglement between two two-level atoms interacting with a Fock state of single-mode quantized radiation field. The reduced density matrix of the atom system is given explicitly.Due to the intrinsic decoherence, the entanglement of the atoms will decrease as the evolution of the system. And finally, the atoms system will approach a stationary state which the stationary entanglement depends on the initial states of the field and the atoms. Here, the entanglement is calculated by making use of the concurrence.
