Abstract

Based on a cavity-assisted interaction by single-photon pulses, we propose a scheme to implement a two-qubit Grover search in a distributed quantum network, with qubits encoded in pairs of atoms in a dephasing-free subspace (DFS), which could strongly suppress collective dephasing errors and would be helpful for enhancing the fidelity of implementation. Moreover, we show that the preparation of entangled states and transfer of quantum states can be completed in our improved scheme, which is very important for the compatibility and scalability of the quantum network.

Grover search in decoherence-free subspace with low-Q cavities

Yong Hu, Q Chen, Mang Feng

By virtue of the single-photon input-output process, we present a potentially practical scheme for realization of a multi-qubit Grover search algorithm in decoherence-free subspace (DFS) with low-Q cavities. Our treatment considers the decay of the cavity, which favours the input and output of the single photons, and the DFS encoding suppresses the collective dephasing errors. We show that our scheme for the three-qubit Grover search in DFS would work using near-future available techniques.

Many-qubit network employing cavity QED in a decoherence-free subspace

We propose a many-qubit network with cavity QED by encoding qubits in decoherence-free subspace, based on which we can implement many-logic-qubit conditional gates by means of cavity-assisted interaction with single-photon pulses. Our scheme could not only resist collective dephasing errors, but also much reduce the implementational steps compared to conventional methods doing the same job, and we can also complete communications between two arbitrary nodes. We show the details by implementing a three-logic-qubit Toffoli gate and explore the experimental feasibility and challenge based on currently achievable cavity QED technologies.

Transfer and teleportation of quantum states encoded in decoherence-free subspace

Hua Wei, Zhi-Jiao Deng, Xiaolong Zhang +1 more

Quantum state transfer and teleportation, with qubits encoded in internal states of atoms in cavities, among spatially separated nodes of a quantum network in a decoherence-free subspace are proposed, based on a cavity-assisted interaction with single-photon pulses. We show in detail the implementation of a logic-qubit Hadamard gate and a two-logic-qubit conditional gate, and discuss the experimental feasibility of our scheme.

Implementation of many-qubit Grover search by cavity QED

We study the possibility of an implementation of N-qubit (N>3) Grover search in cavity QED, based on a fast operation of N-qubit controlled phase-flip with atoms in resonance with the cavity mode. We demonstrate both analytically and numerically that, our scheme could be achieved efficiently to find a marked state with high fidelity and high success probability. As cavity decay is involved in our quantum trajectory treatment, we could analytically understand the implementation of a Grover search subject to dissipation, which would be very helpful for relevant experiments.

Simple scheme for the two-qubit Grover search in cavity QED

Z. J. Deng, Mang Feng, K. Gao

Following the proposal by [F. Yamaguchi et al. Phys. Rev. A 66, 010302(R) (2002)], we present an alternative way to implement the two-qubit Grover search algorithm in cavity QED. Compared with Yamaguchi et al.'s proposal, with a strong resonant classical field added, our method is insensitive to both the cavity decay and thermal field, and does not require that the cavity remain in the vacuum state throughout the procedure. Moreover, the qubit definitions are the same for both atoms, which makes the experiment easier. The strictly numerical simulation shows that our proposal is good enough to demonstrate a two-qubit Grover's search with high fidelity.

Implementation of a many-qubit Grover search by cavity QED

We explore the possibility of an N -qubit ( N > 3) Grover search in cavity QED, based on a fast operation of an N -qubit controlled phase-flip with atoms in resonance with the cavity mode. We demonstrate both analytically and numerically that our scheme can be achieved efficiently to find a marked state with high fidelity and high success probability. As an example, a ten-qubit Grover search is simulated specifically under the discussion of experimental feasibility and challenge. We argue that our scheme is applicable to the case involving an arbitrary number of qubits. As cavity decay is involved in our quantum trajectory treatment, we can analytically understand the implementation of a Grover search subject to dissipation, which will be very helpful for relevant experiments.
