About the relationship between some necessary conditions for N‐representability

H. Kummer

Abstract The relationship between well known necessary conditions for N‐representability of the reduced two‐density matrix is investigated. It is shown that the G‐condition implies two conditions of the operator endomorphism type: the C‐ and the B‐condition.

Some aspects of the N-representability problem in finite dimensions. I. Operator endomorphisms which induce necessary conditions

H. Kummer, Ilyas Absar, A. J. Coleman

The connection between operator endomorphisms and conditions for N-representability is established. The sets 𝒩N and 𝒮N are defined as the sets of operator endomorphisms which induce necessary conditions and sufficient conditions respectively. A detailed characterization of 𝒩N is presented.

Some aspects of the N-representability problem in finite dimensions. II. Operator endomorphisms which induce sufficient conditions

H. Kummer, Ilyas Absar

Given the set 𝒮N of all operator endomorphisms T with the property that whenever D is any 2-density operator, then T (D) is N-representable is considered. We specify a pair {Q2,PN} of extreme points of 𝒮N which are related to each other via the particle-hole duality (Theorem 1.2). The rest of the paper is devoted to a complete characterization of the set ŜN of all operator endomorphisms T with the property that whenever D is any 2-density operator then T (D) is quasi-N-representable, i.e., satisfies the necessary conditions Id, QN, BN, and CN.

Some necessary conditions for N-representability

D.E. Parry

It is shown how the conditions for the N-representability of a first order reduced density matrix can be employed in deriving necessary conditions for the N-representability of higher order reduced density matrices. Some conditions are obtained, which use the eigenvalues of both the first order and the second order reduced density matrices, that are necessary for the N-representability of the latter.

Necessary Conditions for N-Representability of Reduced Density Matrices

Alan Coleman

In this work a large new class of extreme points of the set of N-representable 2-matrices is obtained. They correspond to the exact ground state of an operator B(g) which generalizes the BCS Hamiltonian. Further, three hitherto unpublished necessary conditions for N-representability are obtained.
