Fractional supersymmetry and hierarchy of shape invariant potentials

Mohammed Daoud A, M. Kibler

Fractional supersymmetric quantum mechanics is developed from a generalized Weyl-Heisenberg algebra. The Hamiltonian and the supercharges of fractional supersymmetric dynamical systems are built in terms of the generators of this algebra. The Hamiltonian gives rise to a hierarchy of isospectral Hamiltonians. Special cases of the algebra lead to dynamical systems for which the isospectral supersymmetric partner Hamiltonians are connected by a (translational or cyclic) shape invariance condition.

Origin and classification of fractional dynamical topology in non-Hermitian quantum systems

Zimiao Zhang, Li Chen, Weilun Jiang +1 more

Dynamical quantum phase transitions (DQPT) provide a fundamental framework for characterizing nonequilibrium critical phenomena, and have recently been extended to non-Hermitian systems. Half-integer jumps of the dynamical topological order parameter can arise in both Hermitian and non-Hermitian systems, yet their origin in non-Hermitian settings remains unclear. Here, we investigate DQPTs in a two-band non-Hermitian model and show that these fractional jumps originate from the discontinuity in the complex energy spectrum. We demonstrate that this behavior is intrinsically linked to the steady-state phase diagram of the quench Hamiltonian, and also classify the occurrence of DQPT. We further extend our analysis to the multiband Hamiltonian and the two-dimensional model, providing a unified understanding of fractional dynamical topological signatures.

Fractional resonances and prethermal states in Floquet systems

Rubén Peña, V. M. Bastidas, Felipe Torres +2 more

In periodically driven quantum systems, resonances can induce exotic nonequilibrium behavior and new phases of matter without static analog. We report on the emergence of fractional and integer resonances in a broad class of many-body Hamiltonians with a modulated hopping with a frequency that is either a fraction or an integer of the on-site interaction. We contend that there is a fundamental difference between these resonances when interactions bring the system to a Floquet prethermal state. Second-order processes dominate the dynamics in the fractional resonance case, leading to less entanglement and more localized quantum states than in the integer resonance case dominated by first-order processes. We demonstrate the dominating emergence of fractional resonances using the Magnus expansion of the effective Hamiltonian and quantify their effects on the many-body dynamics via quantum states' von Neumann entropy and Loschmidt echo. Our findings reveal novel features of the nonequilibrium quantum many-body system, such as the coexistence of Floquet prethermalization and localization, that may allow to development of quantum memories for quantum technologies and quantum information processing.
