Quantum-optical weak measurements can visualize photon dynamics in real time

Jürgen Audretsch, Thomas Konrad, Artur Scherer

An experiment is proposed to visualize stroboscopically in real time the dynamics of a photon oscillating between two cavities. The visualization is implemented by a sequence of weak measurements, which are carried out by probing one of the cavities with a Rydberg atom and detecting a resulting phase shift by Ramsey interferometry. This way to measure the number of photons in a cavity was experimentally realized by Brune et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 65, 976, 1990]. We suggest a feedback mechanism which minimizes the disturbance due to the measurement and enables a detection of the original evolution of the radiation field.

Quantum-Enhanced Fluid Dynamics with Adaptive Turbulence Modeling

Jincheng Zhang

Quantum-enhanced fluid dynamics seeks to revolutionize the field of fluid mechanics by integrating quantum entanglement into the model of turbulence. This paper presents a novel approach that dynamically adapts turbulence modeling based on real-time data, resulting in significantly improved accuracy compared to traditional methods. We explore the potential of quantum entanglement to enhance the measurement and prediction of turbulent patterns, providing a framework for adaptive turbulence control. This research introduces a theoretical foundation and proposes a practical implementation utilizing a quantum-enhanced signal processing technique for turbulence characterization. The core claim is that this approach will achieve a substantial improvement in turbulence prediction through dynamic model adjustment.
