Abstract

We show that the amplitude Nth-power squeezing can be produced in kth-harmonic generation. The amplitude Nth-power squeezing of the fundamental can exist if the kth harmonic is originally in a coherent state which includes the vacuum. It is also shown that the normal squeezing of the kth harmonic depends on the amplitude kth-power squeezing of the fundamental.

K-order squeezing in kth-harmonic generation

You-Bang Zhan

In this paper k-order squeezing in kth-harmonic generation is studied. The k-order squeezing of a fundamental can exist if the kth-harmonic is originally in a coherent state including in the vacuum. It is also shown that the normal squeezing of the kth-harmonic depends on the k- order squeezing of the fundamental.

Amplitude-Nth-power squeezing of PB phase coherent states

PB Phase Coherent States are very important quantum states in quantum optics. In order to investigate the amplitude- Nth -power squeezing of PB Phase Coherent States, we introduce the algebraic properties of the PB phase operator and the PB Phase Coherent States which are constructed by PB phase theory. We applied amplitude- Nth -power squeezing theory to define the Amplitude- Nth -Power Squeezing of PB Phase Coherent States and investigate the characteristic of the amplitude- Nth -power squeezing of PB Phase Coherent States.Phase Coherent State), the results show that when Z is a real number there only exists amplitude- Nth -power squeezing of X component; when Z is a complex number, there exists amplitude- Nth -power squeezing ofX component and Y component; when Z is a pure imaginary number, if N is odd, then there does not exist amplitudeNth -power squeezing of X component, but there exists amplitude- Nth -power squeezing of Ycomponent and ifN is even, then there exists amplitude-Nth -power squeezing of X component, but there does not exist amplitudeNth -power squeezing of Y component.

Amplitudekth-power squeezing ofk-photon coherent states

V. Buek, Igor Jex

We have defined a new nonclassical effect: amplitude kth-power squeezing. We have analyzed the squeezing properties of the k-photon coherent states as defined by D'Ariano, Rasetti, and Vadacchio [Phys. Rev. D 32, 1034 (1985)]; Katriel et al. [Phys. Rev. D 34, 332 (1986)]; and D'Ariano and Sterpi [Phys. Rev. A 39, 1810 (1989)]. It has been shown that, due to the interaction with the nonlinear nonabsorbing medium modeled as an anharmonic oscillator, these states become amplitude kth power squeezed.

Higher-order squeezing inkth-harmonic generation

M. Kozierowski

Hong and Mandel's concept of higher-order squeezing is applied to higher-harmonic generation (k\ensuremath{\ge}2). The fundamental mode is shown to be intrinsically squeezed to the order k of the process for even k and to the order of k-1 for odd k.
