Abstract

In this paper, via the generalization of Jaynes-Cummings model, we study the interaction between two two-level atoms with two-mode binomial field in the intensity-dependent coupling regime. After obtaining the explicit and accurate form of the corresponding wave function, we investigate a few nonclassicality features such as sub-Poissonian statistics and atomic inversion. In this way, we establish the nonclassicality of the obtained state.

Entanglement and Other Nonclassical Properties of Two Two-Level Atoms Interacting with a Two-Mode Binomial Field: Constant and Intensity-Dependent Coupling Regimes

Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly, H. Hekmatara

Abstract In this paper, we consider the interaction between two two-level atoms and a two-mode binomial field with a general intensity-dependent coupling regime. The outlined dynamical problem has explicit analytical solution, by which we can evaluate a few of its physical features of interest. To achieve the purpose of the paper, after choosing a particular nonlinearity function, we investigate the quantum statistics, atomic population inversion and at last the linear entropy of the atom-field system which is a good measure for the degree of entanglement. In detail, the effects of binomial field parameters, in addition to different initial atomic states on the temporal behavior of the mentioned quantities have been analyzed. The results show that, the values of binomial field parameters and the initial state of the two atoms influence on the nonclassical effects in the obtained states through which one can tune the nonclassicality criteria appropriately. Setting intensity-dependent coupling function equal to 1 reduces the results to the constant coupling case. By comparing the latter case with the nonlinear regime, we will observe that the nonlinearity disappears the pattern of collapse-revival phenomenon in the evolution of Mandel parameter and population inversion (which can be seen in the linear case with constant coupling), however, more typical collapse-revivals will be appeared for the cross-correlation function in the nonlinear case. Finally, in both linear and nonlinear regime, the entropy remains less than (but close to) 0.5. In other words the particular chosen nonlinearity does not critically affect on the entropy of the system.

Wigner function and entanglement dynamics of a two-atom two-mode nonlinear Jaynes–Cummings model

Mahnaz Ghorbani, Mohammad Javad Faghihi, Hassan Safari

In this paper, a model in which two moving atoms interact with a two-mode field with nondegenerate two-photon transitions is studied in the presence of intensity-dependent coupling. To discuss the entanglement dynamics between subsystems as well as nonclassicality of the system, the time-dependent form of the state vector of the system is exactly obtained. The dynamics of entanglement between the atoms and the field is evaluated by the von Neumann entropy. To examine the degree of entanglement between the atoms, concurrence and negativity are obtained. Then, in order to understand the nonclassicality feature of the state vector of the system, the two-mode Wigner–Weyl quasi-probability distribution function is precisely derived. It is deduced from the numerical results that the domain and the maximum amount of the degree of entanglement and nonclassicality of the system can be appropriately tuned by suitably adopting the nonlinearity function and the field-mode structure parameters.

Solution to Nonlinear Jaynes-Cummings Models with Nonlinearities of both Two-Mode Field and Atom-Field Interaction

Yu Wan‐Lun

We use the Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant and superoperator methods to solve the system of the interaction of a two-level atom with two modes of a quantized field via multiphoton process, including any form of both intensity-dependent interaction and nonlinearity of the two-mode radiation field. The corresponding general atom-field wave function and time evolution operator as well as the time-evolving expressions for both the atomic inversion and the photon numbers of two modes field are evaluated.

Interaction of a Two-Level Atom with the Morse Potential in the Framework of Jaynes–Cummings Model

Mohammad Reza Setare, Sh. Barzanjeh

A theoretical study of the dynamical behaviors of the interaction between a two-level atom with a Morse potential in the framework of the Jaynes–Cummings model (JCM) is discussed. We show that this system is equivalent to an intensity-dependent coupling between the two-level atom and the non-deformed single-mode radiation field in the presence of an additional nonlinear interaction. We study the dynamical properties of the system such as, atomic population inversion, the probability distribution of cavity-field, the Mandel parameter and atomic dipole squeezing. It is shown how the depth of the Morse potential can be affected by non-classical properties of the system. Moreover, the temporal evolution of the Husimi-distribution function is explored.

Nonclassical properties of light in atom-cavity interaction scheme with time-and intensity-dependent coupling / Nor Hazmin Sabri

Nor Hazmin Sabri

The nonclassical properties of light and atomic dynamics are studied. The system considered are two level atom interact with a quantized field in a high quality cavity, which is recognized as the Jaynes-Cumming Model. The time- and intensity-dependent atom-field coupling are applied to the system, with different initial field states and initial atomic states. We also extend the system for three level atom in a cavity, and include the dissipative mechanism in the system. We consider the laser driven three level atom in a cavity coupled to a reservoir. Interesting effects of the transient coupling are analyzed through the collapse-revival pattern in population inversion, while the nonclassicality of cavity field is studied through the features in the evolution ofWigner function. The inversion of initial superposed atomic state seems to be independent of initial classical fields but can be stimulated by the Schrodinger cat field. In two level system, the oscillatory coupling coefficient can prolong the occurrence of collapse, in analogy to the Zeno effect. The intensity atom-field coupling duration is an important parameter for controlling atomic inversion and producing frozen nonclassical light in the cavity after the atom-field coupling ceases. The theory developed will provide useful physical insights for future experimental work and enhance significant knowledge on the nonclassicality of light in matter-wave interaction. The research results will particularly benefit quantum information technology.

Nonlinear Jaynes–Cummings model for two interacting two-level atoms

O de los Santos-Sánchez, Carlos A. González-Gutiérrez, J. Récamier

Abstract In this work we examine a nonlinear version of the Jaynes–Cummings model for two identical two-level atoms allowing for Ising-like and dipole–dipole interplays between them. The model is said to be nonlinear in the sense that it can incorporate both a general intensity-dependent interaction between the atomic system and the cavity field and/or the presence of a nonlinear medium inside the cavity. As an example, we consider a particular type of atom-field coupling based upon the so-called Buck–Sukumar model and a lossless Kerr-like cavity. We describe the possible effects of such features on the evolution of some quantities of current interest, such as atomic excitation, purity, concurrence, the entropy of the field and the evolution of the latter in phase space.
